Love & healing vs hate and death

Finally Harriett marries Peter, escape paparazzi to a country house honeymoon and find a corpse in the cellar. Sayers gives us a delicious payoff for years of waiting to see this compelling couple come together! They discover deep, true love and healing, and also uncover greedy hatred and death. Funny, wise, eccentric as Sayers is in all her novels, this, in my mind, is second only to Gaudy Night in brilliance and delight!

David Straithern is a wonderful narrator! He seems borne to tell these “westerns”. Is his middle name Sackett?

Reliably entertaining, this is one of the author’s best! The narrator, using many voices and characterizations was superlative!

I've enjoyed most of Lamour's stories, but not this - it really needed a good editor! Sorry I wasted my time.

A great 20th century novel read brilliantly by Colin Firth. Please, put in front of the microphone again and again.

And Then There Were None Audiolibro Por Agatha Christie arte de portada

And Then There Were None is classic Agatha Christie, an author whose unique skills in deftly defining each character enables her readers to identify with at least one of the protagonists and so to virtually live within the story. Hugh Fraser is outstanding, bringing to life a large cast of both men and women from disparate social milieu. The listener is confused by miscues, occasionally confident of a solution, then shocked by the unexpected twists that build uncertainty on uncertainty. The ultimate resolution is implausible, but it's been great fun to be a part of it all!

I would especially recommend this high style/minimal gore audiobook for friends unfamiliar with the English mystery as a genre.

Elegantly narrated and beautifully written . . . another wonderful book by Wendell Berry. Susan Denaker's understated Hannah is utterly believable and deeply moving. Even though I'm not Southern, I heard my grandmother's voice and was glad.
