Historia
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

Somewhat Predictable

The Audible was entertaining but somewhat predictable. I would still recommend. Acting and sound effects were excellent.

Didn't like the ENDING!! Just ride off in the sunset and be grateful they all pulled off, by a slim margin, the robbery in their former neck of the woods. Why tempt fate contemplating another robbery in a big city where the odds are against you? Other than that excellent.

Written by renowned surgeon and expert on the art of aging, Dr. M.E. Hecht, with her friend Whoopi Goldberg lending her unique point of view, Two Old Broads is laugh-out-loud funny and tells it like it is for all of us who left middle age in the dust and want to be present, positive, and as extraordinary as ever in our golden years. Whoopi joins Dr. Hecht in a lively conversation about growing older with no apologies. Dr. Hecht, who passed away a few short months prior to publication, shares her 93 years of wisdom with Whoopi and their fellow “broads.”

Excellent advice, miss Ms Goldberg's voice.
Revisado: 05-28-24
This is a very needed and informative book. Dr Hecht pulls no punches, I enjoyed the narrator for Dr. Hecht. It would've been an additional plus to include Ms Goldberg's voice audio. The narration for Ms Goldberg was good, but sometimes hearing the true speakers voice, when available and talented as Ms Goldberg, adds flavor to the audio narration. Especially when you know the delivery will be genuinely authentic and captivating. I do plan to listen to this audio book again. It's needed in order to take in all the great aging wisdom from the experienced doctor and the longevity griot. God bless Dr.Hecht and Ms Goldberg for leaving us old broads this much needed information. I have a better understanding of that term "old broad" than before. I will pass some of this wisdom on to my old man of 45 years!

Historia
If it weren’t for Emma Johnson, Caryn Johnson would have never become Whoopi Goldberg. Emma gave her children the loving care and wisdom they needed to succeed in life, always encouraging them to be true to themselves. When Whoopi lost her mother in 2010—and then her older brother, Clyde, five years later—she felt deeply alone; the only people who truly knew her were gone. Emma raised her children not just to survive, but to thrive. In this intimate and heartfelt memoir, Whoopi shares many of the deeply personal stories of their lives together for the first time.

Amazing Mother
Revisado: 05-22-24
To date, one of my favorite Audible listening experiences. I think it's one of the few Audible books that has a greater impact in audio when read by Ms. Goldberg. It held my attention from beginning to end. Ms. Goldberg is blessed to have such a close knit family to support, learn, and share their life experiences together. Even with their unknown life experiences, that may have impacted how they expressed unconventional and unexpected judgment calls, they still remained close. Ms. Goldberg's mother is an amazing person. The final chapter regarding death is a guide post for anyone dealing with the death of a close loved one. I appreciate the wisdom and advice Ms. Goldberg offers in that final chapter. Thank you for this audio gift!

Captivating
Revisado: 05-16-24
This story was beyond excellent. i was looking forward to what the future held for the surviving characters. It's sad the author, Delores Phillips, passed before completing the sequel and we only received a taste of what might have been an equally excellent continuance. As narrator, Bahni Turpin did a superior reading that reflected a true audio interpretive talent at capturing each of the numerous characters personalities. Bravo, a must hear Audible!

A gift for the listener
Revisado: 03-27-24
This touched my heart in so many ways. As an African American, a library bookworm and part-time library employee for over 20 years. Feeding The Dragon is relatable to everyone, even though it is Ms. Washington's unique true life experience. I found myself laughing and crying at Ms. Washington's expessive, touching, and well told truth. A confirmed Grio in Audible. I will share and gift this with many. Thank you Ms. Washington for this precious, entertaining, and personal life sharing audio experience.

We can all relate
Revisado: 03-21-24
Swing State was a new and phenomenal experience for me, an avid audio listener. This is my first review of an audio. The writing, acting, and sound effects were just enough for me to feel the realness of the location, each characters personalities, challenges, and emotions. The sounds, tone, and atmosphere of the story along with the setting were so realalistic. I am a lifelong city dweller but this story made me truly understand how our lives, emotions, and experiences are relatable and universal. Through listening to this audio, the actors and sound effects allowed my mind to easily visualize the imagery of the story. I loved this story, and like a great movie, I will listen to Swing State again and again. Thank you to the writer, producer, and cast for this gift through Audible!!
