Historia
Kin Stewart is an everyday family man: working in IT, trying to keep the spark in his marriage, struggling to connect with his teenage daughter, Miranda. But his current life is a far cry from his previous career...as a time-traveling secret agent from 2142. Stranded in suburban San Francisco since the 1990s after a botched mission, Kin has kept his past hidden from everyone around him, despite the increasing blackouts and memory loss affecting his time-traveler’s brain. Until one afternoon, his “rescue” team arrives - 18 years too late.

Lovely time travel story.
Revisado: 09-15-24
I loved that it involved ethnic characters with true ethnic voices that had important professional lives. I wasn't sure how the story would end but the author closed it out with no loose ends. Story is about a man caught between two lives across a few generations that intercept and force him to make a choice: will he be a father and keep the family he had, or a husband to the woman he loves in a different future time. I had trouble with the narrator's delivery. I did love the sound of his voice but it sounded like AI robotics when he voiced Ken until I sped up the sound rate, then everything was fine.

Eerie, but better the second time around.

My wish was to make things better, and if it were my story, I would have wanted a happier, more romantic ending, but it was not and I, like the saint of war, accepted it.

Historia
Most children go through a dinosaur phase. Learning all the tongue-twisting names, picking favourites based on ferocity, armour, or sheer size. For many kids this love of ‘terrible lizards’ fizzles out at some point between starting and leaving primary school. All those fancy names slowly forgotten, no longer any need for a favourite. For all those child dino fanatics who didn’t grow up to become paleontologists, dinosaurs seem like something out of mythology. They are dragons, pictures in books, abstract, other, extinct.

Historia

Delightful story of endings and beginnings.
Revisado: 03-07-24
Loved narrator's voice and the laughter in it. Parts of story had my heart beating faster in suspense, a single woman takes in a complete stranger on her deserted island, what could happen? Other parts of the story reconfirm that Esther, like many women, needed no man, "she knew how to take care of herself". She would be fine. but how nice to indulge...

Historia
Jackson ”Jax” Caruso inherited a ship from his parents. They’re dead, and they don’t need it. The unification wars happened a while ago, Jax’s parents' fought for the losing side. Now he takes the jobs he can get—smuggling, bounty hunting, hauling cargo. If it pays, he’ll do it. When Jax is approached with a job that seems too good to be true, he should have known better, he should have walked. He didn’t. Now, he and a few friends are in it deep; imperial entanglements are the least of their concerns with organized crime on their tails.

story never had time to flush out character personalities. I really wanted to like them because I do love quirky team adventure stories but maybe they needed more time to percolator. The main character seemed too young and immature, and I found it hard to believe he appeals to such various types. I didn't really care for the narrator. All characters voices sounded the same except for Marshall's and the battle bot and they had the same deep baritone. That was fine. I could figure out the rest but what I really didn't like was how everyone's voice went up at the end of a sentence like they weren't sure what they were talking about. if it had only been the Ai or drone I could have accepted it but even the humans did it. I did like that the author tried to include different ethnic people in the story but it didn't make a lot of sense why.

More adventure, more depth of character. Did I mention more fun? Cal manages to get himself into more impossible dangers one after another but its a good thing he can take a punch. Nice bringing back folks from earlier books, and branching out with new people too.

Historia
Cal Carver and his Space Team may have lost their ship, but they haven't lost their knack for attracting trouble. Just hours after setting foot on a new planet, Cal and the crew find themselves caught up in an interplanetary kidnapping plot. Reuniting the suspiciously-silent young victim with her parents on their far-off home world will make Cal rich beyond his wildest dreams. Unfortunately, half the pirates and bounty hunters in the galaxy have the same idea, and they're more than happy to take the girl by force.

Fun,Funky, adventures!
Revisado: 09-08-22
So far, I have enjoyed this one the best! The space team has finally gotten their feet under them and are ready for action. The story peaks and plummets between near death experiences and unfathomable escapes. Performance lost one star because Lauren often sounds like a man. Other than that, enjoyed it.

Revisado: 08-24-22
I feel the characters could use a bit more developing. I would love to hear Sploort's background story and discover what he really is. Narration was fine except Loraine sounds like a guy most of the time. I'm hoping for more in the next book. More action, more story developing and more fun.

Thoroughly enjoy the creole and southern slangs.
Revisado: 03-14-22
Ms Havam talks a good slang! The characters were easy to distinguish. my beast purred whenever Ricky bo came on scene too ! Maybe I'll try another book but this one was too disjointed. It was a bunch of short stories that were all out of phase. Some were interesting but They left you wondering how we got to this place.
