The story is fantastic.

Well thought out. Well put together. Well read. Worth the credit. You get enough backstory to feel informed but not drowning in it. Wraps up well for a series starter too. Great listen.

I’m a heavy sci-fi, fantasy/urban fantasy reader and expected more magic in truth though this book was excellent even with the very little magic in it. Tom Taylorson’s narration is wonderful. The pacing is superb. The story draws you in deeply and keeps you rooting hard for the characters.

What’s not to love? You’ve got Nick Phodehl, Robert W Ross and an amazing story. With a massive library (like most of us) I find it hard to find books that really keep me guessing but holy Batman y’all this one did it.
