Difficult to get involved in the beginning but pays off in the end

I almost gave up in the opening chapters with no story or characters that seemed engaging but once I got to the Shooting chapter, it finally became entertaining. I’m in the entertainment business and appreciate how authentic the movie making process is depicted.

Lots of unnecessary information

I enjoyed the book overall but had to skip through some chapters that went too deep into the backgrounds of the author, screenwriter and director. Also, lots of history about the 60’s that got off track from the interesting parts about the actual making of the film.

Now my favorite Dawkins book

Richard Dawkins writes and speaks eloquently comparable to Carl Sagan. He’s able to convey complicated ideas in a way palpable to the average listener.

Great book but wrong choice for narrator

I was happy with the content of the book but had a hard time grasping the technical information. The narrator has a great voice for reading fiction but not for conveying scientific info. I had to rewind several parts and even slow down the speed.

Lots of science for non fiction fans

I don’t normally spend time listening to fiction but like The Martian, Artemis is filled with science fact along with a compelling story and great narration. This is probably what it would really be like if there were a colony on the moon.

An inspirational story of a great national hero

An amazing true story of one of our most famous astronauts overcoming depression and alcoholism to becoming our best advocate for future manned space exploration and tourism. It’s a good mix of his deeply personal story and a history of the Apollo program including a play by play of the Apollo 11 moon landing in the first few chapters. The narrator has a similar sound and quality to Buzz’s voice that make listening feel authentic.

Enlightening and entertaining

For those of us who were blindsided by Trump’s election and the pursuing spiral into madness, this book takes you back and then brings you up to speed on how it all came to be. Read by the author better than any professional reader could do.

Great instructional book and very entertaining.

The best narrator I've heard in an audio book so far! I kept forgetting I wasn't listening to the author. Normally I'd rather hear an author read his/her own material even though they're not polished but in this case Michael Kramer was the better choice.
The hostage negotiation stories keep the information entertaining, relevant and memorable.

A great overview of humanity

An entertaining listen giving a wide perspective without getting bogged down in too many details like names and dates that I'll never remember. The narrator did an excellent job sounding as if he authored the words himself.
