Where does Andrew's Brain rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not very high

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Where was Andrew when this took place? Not clear.

What three words best describe E. L. Doctorow’s performance?

monotone (which helped one see Andrew's mental state)
disparing
comotose

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no

Any additional comments?

It held my attention because I was looking for something to happen or some explanation of how he got to his current situation (whatever that was--prison?) Did he kill or harm the child drawing at the table on the farm? Who was "coming?" Why was he in Norway or was he?

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Probably not-- very light weight though entertaining in parts

What could Kerry Greenwood have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Nothing

Have you listened to any of Stephanie Daniel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Do you think Cocaine Blues needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

This is part of a series but I gather they don't follow this subject--just Phrynne the main character.

Any additional comments?

It is a good book to listen to when your mind doesn't want to be burdened. The heroine's sexual dalliances are gratuitous but obviously part of her persona. I thought at times I stumbled into a seamy romance novel.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

If you like the usual Hamish books, this is not for you. Evil children (who remain on the loose) are only part of the problem. International crime, barely explained murders, all a jumble. Skip this one.

Has Death of a Kingfisher turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I think this was a aberration. All the other Hamish books have been quite entertaining, slyly amusing and calm.

What about Graeme Malcolm’s performance did you like?

I like his voice and portrayal. Good Scots accent.

Could you see Death of a Kingfisher being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

NO

Any additional comments?

Had bad dreams about it the night after I finished....unheard of for me.

If you could sum up The Victim in Victoria Station in three words, what would they be?

Entertaining light mystery

What did you like best about this story?

A good mystery but no violence to speak of. Every one was quite civilized--even the murderer. (Especially the murderer)

Which scene was your favorite?

When Dorothy and friends were prowling around the offices where she was a fake receptionist to find evidence to accuse a murderer

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No

Any additional comments?

Typical "cottage" type English mystery except the heroine is American by birth and this took place in London. Have enjoyed her other books very much which on the whole I liked better.
Character development was a bit weak in some instances.

Where does Death of a Maid rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Up there in this genre. Amusing, gentle (for a murder) and great character development of Hamish Macbeth, constable of tiny Highland village and his life.

Have you listened to any of Graeme Malcolm’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. Love his scottish interpretation and accent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes,

Any additional comments?

I will listen to more! Only wish I had done them in order.
