Interesting time in History- beware of vulgar language/LGBQT content

Narration excellent, historical time period very interesting and some of the characters very likeable … just felt like some of the language and the LGBQT content could have been toned down which would have made the book more appealing to a wider demographic.

Kate Quinn is an incredible writer but I have to say this is my least favorite in comparison to “Rose Code” and “Diamond Eye.” I felt like I wanted to know more about each of the characters especially Nora. She did do a good job portraying a vast variety of people but it was almost too much to keep up with. .

I also didn’t like how often she took God’s name in vain and I didn’t like the LGBQT vivid/ descriptive content. I feel like the storyline could have been just as compelling with those 2 things toned down.

I did like the inclusion of all of the recipes, wish I could wholeheartedly recommend to my book club as would have been fun to make the recipes at our meetings.

Hope infused into the horrors of Auschwitz

This was an incredibly compelling historical fiction novel based on fact. The horrors of Auschwitz were incomprehensible. However the stories of the women in the book are beyond inspiring and so important.

Just keep listening, you won’t regret it

The beginning to me dragged on and was almost depressing (this is not a beach read). I almost quit but that would have been a HUGE mistake as about 2/3 in it becomes one of the most captivating books I have ever read. Another Kristen Hannah 10/10

Everyone should read this !

Brings awareness to horrors in Amish community and child abuse. However, it’s conveyed in a way that is not too overwhelming to the reader. It’s also extremely well written and I found myself completely engrossed wanting to know what would happen next. The narration was also perfect. 10/10 and I’m so inspired by Misty.

Loved the theme of Grace

This was very interesting in a book that I typically never would have read, The narrator was exceptionally good and reeled me in. At a few points, I thought it went a little too slow, but I sped up the narration and got more into the story. I was drawn into trying to figure out where the book was going, and I loved the theme Of Grace permeated through out the story.
