Unrelatable
Revisado: 04-12-21
Unrelatable. This book is full of fat shaming and toxic hustle culture. It is also has zero lens for equity. Do not recommend.

Loved this book! I relate to Nina an many levels, though I'm an extrovert and replace anxiety with depression. But, really, I did not want this book to end. I want to hear more about Nina and her life.

"My father had more than 50 children." So begins the haunting memoir of Anna LeBaron, daughter of the notorious polygamist and murderer Ervil LeBaron. With her father wanted by the FBI for killing anyone who tried to leave his cult - a radical branch of Mormonism - Anna and her siblings were constantly on the run with the other sister-wives. Often starving and always desperate, the children lived in terror. Even though there were dozens of them together, Anna always felt alone.

Historia
Life isn’t about “finding” fulfillment and success - it’s about creating it. Why then has creativity been given a back seat in our culture? No longer. Creativity is a force inside every person that, when unleashed, transforms our lives and delivers vitality to everything we do. Establishing a creative practice is therefore our most valuable and urgent task - as important to our well-being as exercise or nutrition. The good news? Renowned artist, author, and CreativeLive founder, Chase Jarvis, reminds us that creativity isn't a skill - it's a habit available to everyone.

Great Ideals and Action Steps
Revisado: 01-06-20
I really loved this book. Chase gives incredible examples of how creativity impacts us and those around us. He gives us a why and how - action steps to become more creative. And then, he goes into sharing and how important that part is. Many people don't get into the importance of sharing your creations with the world. It was all really good and really practical. I enjoyed every moment.

I love Marie Forleo. Her work is amazing and so important. This book is practical with exercises, case studies, and reminders of who we are. I love it. If you need to find the courage to go after what you want in life, read this book! I've always had trouble finding the one thing I want to do but I learned that it's ok to be MULTIPASSIONATE! Yassss!! Also, the audio version is extra special because Jersey Marie makes a couple appearances.

What an incredible account of growing up in post-apartheid South Africa. This story sounded so far away yet so close. It was told so well. I'm so glad I decided to listen. Easily in my top 10 books of all time.

so damn good!
Revisado: 12-15-17
This was such a great book! I feel like I could have written parts of it myself. While our life experiences are so different (I'm not a famous musician, for one), I can relate to being uncomfortable in my own skin, awkward moments, and not knowing what the hell to do with myself sometimes (all the time?). Thank you, Sara. I will always be a fan.

This week was the tragic Las Vegas shooting. I've been very excited to read this book and started listening yesterday. I could not have read it at a better time. Amidst the us vs them mentality, the politicizing, and polarizing this book breathes life into my beliefs. This book helps me to be a better person and know that it is OKAY to not engage in the this or that rhetoric a lot of people cling to. We are more than black or white, Democrat or Republican, straight or gay. We are humans who desperately crave connection. This book is beautiful. Thank you.
