Fun, quick listen!

What a fun little Christmas story! A steamy couple of days with an old crush is a great way to spend the weekend, right? A sweeter read than I expect from Sibylla, but definitely worth it.

I absolutely love Kitty's voice, but I would have liked a bit more emotion and differentiation between characters.

I was so excited to dive into this. I've already read the book, so I was anxious to hear it come to life! The trip back to The Naughty Pine was a great one and it was so fun getting to experience Rogue and Chickadee on their journey again. The narrator has an AMAZING voice, but I would have liked more of a difference between characters - they all sounded similar. If she were to add some more emotion to the dialogue, she'd be a new favorite! I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I've heard that this was written before 50, but put on hold and it definitely reads as a first book. The detail was lacking and the repetitive lines made it difficult to listen to. The story ended in an odd place with questions unanswered. The mix of first person and third person was a little awkward as well.

The narrators were okay. They struggled to portray each other's accents, making it difficult to remain in the moment. I am not a fan of sound effects or music in my audiobooks, as it pulls me out of the story and I found the piano music to be distracting.

I'm not normally a fan of duet narrations, but these two were fantastic. I felt every emotion with them and they brought life to Pepper's words. It'll take me awhile to get over this book!

I really enjoyed this one. I liked the emphasis of overcoming your childhood vs. perpetuating the cycle. I would have liked to know a bit more about the children, but maybe that will show up in the next book.

Great listen!

Absolutely loved the story! The chemistry between Ava and Jackson was great and hearing the words cone to life was even better. The narrator played a wonderful Jackson, but had a harder time with female voices. Female voices were not as distinct, missing a softer lilt. The... other...voices were well done.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

No, I truly enjoyed the story itself. I like the way Xavier and Payton developed their relationship and really supported the each other's quirks. It's such a small thing, but the use of the word "honey" was refreshing. I feel like I hear the same endearments repeated in book after book after book.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kory Getman’s performances?

Unfortunately, no. The narration was entirely too flat, coupled with mispronunciations and over pronunciations. There was also an odd editing error in the middle.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Sure! In typical Kelly fashion, she has built up the minor characters to be engaging as well. I'd love to see them depicted on the screen.

Any additional comments?

I would love to read a follow-up book, but will probably read rather than listen in order to correct more deeply with the characters.

A great start!

What aspect of Romy Nordlinger’s performance would you have changed?

The book needs a stronger male voice. Anthony Rawlings is a strong, alpha male and I had a hard time with Romy's portrayal of him.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend the book (and have, to many people!) and I found this to be a nice complement to it. I'm not sure I would enjoy the book as much if this was my first introduction to it.

The entire series was recommended to me, so I thought I would at least try the first book. It was amazing! I didn't want to hit pause/stop and listened every chance I had.

Going to download the second book now!
