Historia
In the fading days of late summer, 2011, self-taught astrophysicist Petra has calculated that the atmosphere will collapse in a few weeks’ time—on September 21, at approximately 9:20 pm—ending the world as we know it. But the distraught Petra will not have to carry the burden of this terrible news alone for long. Fate intervenes, bringing her into the orbit of a pair of unlikely companions: Johan, a man whose intellectual prowess is remarkably overshadowed by his culinary skills, and Agnes, a seventy-five-year-old widow who has made a fortune posing as a young influencer on social media.

The performer’s impersonation are so cringe
Revisado: 06-11-24
I suppose the European accents are tolerable but any of the characters beyond the continent gets so butchered, it’s distracting. I almost wish Peter Kenny will just narrate without using impersonations bc he has a lovely voice.
Otherwise great storytelling, fun characters, and creative scenarios. Worth a read/listen :)

Would’ve preferred the book over audio

In the intro he talks about “circus barkers” on tv trying to sell you on the next big thing. And yet his own delivery is very circus barker-y. Aside from the performance, great points and perspective on how to achieve success.

Great Performances and Sound Effects
Revisado: 01-05-15
Where does The Child rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was my first time listening to any audiobook at this production level with a full cast of actors and sound effects. It definitely helps deliver a fuller story experience and bring the characters to life.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting segments of the story were its high action scenes and the descriptive introductions to the characters and setting. The story contained great concepts but the plot felt forced toward the ending.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
Each actor had a distinct voice and did a great job expressing emotions through purely sound.
