Historia
When Danielle Boatman inherits Marlow House, she dreams of turning it into a seaside bed and breakfast. Since she's never visited the property, Danielle's not sure what awaits her in Oregon. She certainly doesn't expect to find one of the house's previous owners still in residence. After all, the man has been dead for almost 90 years - shouldn't he have moved on by now? Charming Walt Marlow convinces Danielle the only way he can move on is if she solves the mystery of his death.

Fun twist on The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
Revisado: 04-09-19
The story is fun a fun take on The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Sadly, the narration doesn't do as much as it could to distinguished between characters or to make it clear when a character is thinking and when speaking. It leads to some confusion in various parts of the story.

Like the story. The narrator, not so much.
Revisado: 03-03-19
I think I would like the book better if I were reading it. The narrator's pacing and emphasis is a bit jarring and interrupts the flow of the story.

Odd narration of ho-hum story.
Revisado: 05-24-17
Doesn't really seems up to typical Quick/Krentz standard. Hard to decide how much of the disappointment with the book has to do with the strangely emphasized narration, which detracted from the story line.

Historia
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets 16-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Didn't care for the narration.
Revisado: 09-13-16
The narration didn't seem to match the story. Perhaps a story that is better if read rather than spoken.

Good story, very poorly read
Revisado: 03-08-15
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The only thing I would change about the book is the narrator.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narration sounded as though the book had just been picked up by a high school student and read without any preparation. The narrator didn't seem to know what the sentences being read were about, or who was supposed to be speaking, nor any sensitivity to the humor in Huff's writing.

Well, her offer is accepted, but the weapon isn't forthcoming, and so Andromeda faces the dragon alone.

One Good Knight
Revisado: 04-22-13
What did you like best about this story?
All Mercedes Lackey's 500 Kingdoms books are fun, clever takeoffs on common fairy tales and myths with little homages to other writers, such as Terry Pratchett.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Solon is pronounced SOH-lun.
The woman's name Mercedes (MUR-si-deez) is not pronounced the same way the car Mercedes-Benz is usually pronounced (mur-SAY-deez).
The production team need to do their homework!!!
Gabra Zackman has a very pleasant, clear voice and makes it easy to distinguish which character is speaking, but her pronunciation of unusual names and/or words is very distracting.
