To start, Zara Ramm is an incredible speaker and actor. The prose she was tasked to perform have been brilliantly crafted, and I almost, for a slim moment, thought I understood the time travel paradox. I also love a good wacky story, and St Mary’s always delivers.

Less of a story about a war than about several people attempting to be alternate versions of themselves. Most of the accent work was “high school drama production” quality. Took me totally out of immersion. Sigh. Potential that wasn’t met.

I love the inclusivity in this story and would be delighted if these interesting characters showed up in more stories from the author

Tom Allen’s love letter to a father who loved his family. Tom writes about how Hill the memory of his father has been found in every action, in every thought. Simply beautiful.

This book was, at least partially, written by an admiral who served as former NATO commander in Europe. So, it's easy to say he knows he stuff better than us. That being said - this book wasn't written with the sole intent to be accurate.

Mild spoilers: the author's make their case that the US is under prepared in cyber warfare by giving the Chinese a sort of 'magic bullet'. The ability to just overrun American tech. Realistic? Probably not. But, I don't see that as the point. The point was to make the case that the US's cyber security is lacking, and this kind of thing *could* happen if it continues.

It's an alright read. One of the narrators is annoying, but that's just me. It's extremely hypothetical, so if you're looking for a super-accurate projection - this probably isn't it. But, it's neat.

Really excellent book. Each character has depth and a unique voice (to say nothing of the incredible narrator), but each is somehow also familiar, as if you've met or read about somebody nearly like each one of them, so they're super relatable (mostly). The book giddily challenges preconceived ideas, institutional paranoia, and gender issues, while galloping around the countryside at breakneck speed. What a ride!

As everybody else has said, the narrator, Adam Fuller, IS MAGNIFICENT. I will absolutely be watching for more from him.

Now that I've looked at the book title on Amazon.com, I understand that this is Book 1 of a series. I can hardly wait for the next installment! There were a lot of things wrapped up in this book, but many other things still to be decided in the future. For instance, what's the deal with Glance's family? Will the protagonists keep in touch? Will Gerald return to his previous employer? And what about those cussing slugs?

Voice acting is really good and descriptions of a time gone by bring the setting to life. Enchanting.

Narrator(s) quite limited in 'voices', so everybody tended to sound the same. Some errors in inflection and attitude made for confusing sentences. Story was cute, but nothing spectacular. Best part was introduction by author's (deceased) daughter.
