This final book did not disappoint. Everything about this series is just so excellently done.

I read the other three books in the series via audiobook, but for this final book, I couldn't listen to it fast enough so switched between the audio and print book.

I have loved this series, but this final book was perfection. So, so, so good. TJ Klune is just one of the best story-tellers around and he's found the perfect narrator in Michael Lesley for this series. The characters are everything and the two partner to bring them to glorious life.

I've LOVED this series and highly, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it. But you have to read all four books. This is NOT a book that will stand on it's own.

Read the series...it's ridiculous and funny and is beyond anything I've ever read. But at the same time, it's heartfelt, sweet, and so romantic. Ryan and Sam...gah, I cannot love them anymore. In fact, there are so many characters in these books that I simply want to know in real life. I laughed out loud so many times and sobbed out loud a couple times, too. This series is just everything.

And I highly recommend it on audio. Michael Lesley is KING OF NARRATORS!!

Typical Corinne Michaels book (totally broken heroine and swoon-worthy hero who adores and heals her) which I continue to love in audio...always a great read and the narrators were phenomenal on this one. LOVED the British accents.

Wow, Shelly is an unlikely heroine, but I loved that about her. Shelly has serious OCD...to the point that it affects all her interactions within the world, but she's working so hard to overcome them and to be a part of a functioning society when she doesn't have to (she's an artist who can support herself by staying home and doing her art...she chooses to do the difficult thing and go to a job everyday). I loved that about her.

And note: Angela Dawe didn't get to narrate a whole lot of the book because most of it is done in Beau's POV, but when she was inside Shelly's head, she did an amazing job inflecting Shelly's OCD ramblings. I loved how she narrated for Shelly...it really helped to make her a sympathetic character.

Beau is the other twin and he's dealing with a lot. He does not like Shelly (mainly because he doesn't understand her). He's a really outgoing and personable guy. Having an introvert who can't handle touch is completely foreign to him. He simply doesn't 'get' Shelly and the two clash because of that. But that's not all Beau is dealing with. His twin brother is getting ready to move away and Beau is definitely feeling the loss already. On top of a whole lot of other family drama.

Overall, it was an entertaining book. It seemed to move a little slower than the other books in the series, but that could easily be because this is book #4 in the series. After that many, they follow a very similar pattern and none of the characters are too much of a surprise...so it makes sense why it would feel that way. I still love the Winston Brothers and the dynamics between all these guys...and their sister/s.

I really enjoyed this book. I haven't heard much about this series, but was anxious to get started. Yay...it was a great choice.

Nash is a deeply in the closet sheriff. He's grown up in Rainbow Cove where his dad was also the sheriff. As such, there have always been expectations for how he'll act...most especially...heterosexual. Nash doesn't think his life will survive ever coming out, so he plans to stay in the closet his entire life and get sex only on a very rare occasion.

Mason also grew up in Rainbow Cove, but his reputation as part of the Hanks clan is VERY different from Nash's. His family is always skirting the edge of what is legal and everyone condemns him purely by his familial ties. But Mason isn't like the rest of his family. In fact, he's a really nice, law-abiding guy. He figures if he keeps acting that way eventually someone will believe him...most especially Sheriff Sexy who doesn't trust Mason one inch.

This is a slow build romance simply because Nash is so far in the closet and he doesn't know who Mason really is as a person. They slowly become friends and then things progress from there.

And it's a sweet story. I really enjoyed it. It wasn't just the romance that drew me to the book, either. I liked the backstories and plots happening in the background of it all. Mason has his family drama, the difficulties of running a new restaurant, and convincing the locals that a gay bar isn't a bad thing for their small communities tourist trade. Nash is dealing with the difficulties of a mother who wants him to maintain the facade he's always had as well as dealing with Mason's trouble-making family and all the other demands of being the sheriff.

It was simply a good book. So good that I immediately downloaded book #2 before I finished. I hope there's a lot more to come in Rainbow Cove.

Totally honest opinion on this one...I should NOT have listened to it on audio and I sure as heck shouldn't have done that before reading the other FIVE books that preceded it. Listening to a book is harder because you don't have the visual cues of names that you're seeing to keep everyone straight. And there are SO MANY characters in this one. Not only are there three main characters, but there are also all the couples and relationships from the other five books. I had an awful time keeping people straight and was trying so hard to do that, that I think I must have missed details at the beginning of the story, because I have so many questions...like what the hell happened to Ren?

Did I just miss all that in the morass of characters in the beginning? I'll admit that's possible, but I don't understand what happened to him that he's so messed up. He was a soldier, his mission went wrong, and his team died. I couldn't tell if his trauma was from being held captive (that is what happened right?), or from the fact that his team died because of something he did with some girl that caused their deaths, or with something he did to another girl in another book. And he's somehow been missing because his brothers didn't know where he was...

Like I said, I think I missed a ton of information at the beginning of the book, just because so much was happening with so many freaking characters and all their complex past story lines that were thrown at the reader. It was impossible to keep track of all the details that mattered to THIS story line.

And the sad thing is...I think I would have loved the book if I knew all that history. But I haven't read those other five books, so instead listened to the entire book feeling pretty much lost...and I hate that. UGH.

Wow, what an amazing and creative debut novel. Huge kudos to Davidson King for knocking this one out of the ballpark. This book was incredible.

Snow lives on the streets. Everyone calls him Snow because of his pale-white complexion and hair. He comes upon a group of guys picking on a kid and steps in, offering whatever to get the guys to leave the kid alone. That kid just happens to be the nephew of one of the most notorious mob bosses around, Christopher. As a result, Snow is taken into Christopher's household.

I loved Snow. He's this great mix of streetwise, but maintains an incredible heart. He's kept his level of compassion and empathy even though he's had a hard, awful life the last few years, but isn't so naive as to ever wonder or doubt just how ruthless Christopher can be. Bravo to the author for maintaining that balance with both Christopher and Snow...without taking it too far in one direction or the other which could have really ruined the story.

The story was fantastic. While I wouldn't classify it as romantic suspense, it came darn close. There's always a threat hanging over Snow because the guy who had Christopher's nephew is pure evil and cannot sit by and let Snow go without paying.

Also, I really like this one in audio. There are two narrators which I tend not to like in m/m because their voices sound too different when they are reading the other character, but this one flowed perfectly. I loved these two narrators together.

All in all, I can definitely recommend this one. Now, I need to go read the other two books in the series, but the debate will be...read them now, or wait and hope they come out in audio.

I was so excited when I found out there was a second book in this series, because I adored the first book. And omg, it did not disappoint...at all. This book was just as good as the first, but better in the fact that the two guys are in such an amazing place together that although neither is in a good place mentally, they don't let it affect the strength within their relationship. That made it an amazingly fantastic read that just melts my heart. (And please, please, please...I'm begging that there's a third book in the series. I LOVE THESE TWO and their menagerie of family and strays.)

So, the basics...Larx is the high school principal. Aaron is a sheriff's deputy. They both care deeply about the people that they come in contact with which is where they get into trouble. At their hearts, both of these guys are HUGE PROTECTORS. They physically can't standby when someone's in danger of any sort. That's great except it puts both of them in the line of fire, over and over again. But neither one of them would be who they are without that fact.

I'm not going to say anymore about that though because...no spoilers.

Just know...this book was AMAZINGLY good! OMG, so, so good!! Because this isn't a story just about these two guys. This is also about their family...their tribe. They tend to take in the strays along with anyone they love who needs help. As a result, there are story lines all over the place in this book. But all of them are good...the brothers, the wombat, the girls. All of those stories had heartwarming points, ridiculous points, and points where I just wanted to cry. But in the end, it was all incredibly sweet and filled with love. The way it should be.

These characters...they know how to love with every part of their being and that makes reading these books...pure happiness. I loved it!
