A group of ubernaturals has recently descended on the city, forcing Ian and his crew have to put everything on the line to control the ensuing chaos. While the crew of the Las Vegas PPD aren't exactly strangers when it comes to dealing with death, destruction, and mayhem, fighting these new powerful beasts is admittedly taking its toll.

The story is very amateurish. The best thing about this was the narrator, but there is only so much you can do with the source material. Author should develop a relationship with a good editor.

Reading was choppy, and storyline random as it jumped from character to character

no, storyline only loosely meshed, only real connection is that they share a common time line and "settings"
How did the narrator detract from the book?
choppy, sometimes had long pauses in reading some passages
Could you see The Magician's Apprentice being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
nope.

Found out during the reading that this may have been an attempt at giving historical background info/attempt to tie several of the authors other series together. As this was my first experience with this authors work I was disappointed and would be reluctant to check her other series.
