Historia
Raised as a fourth-generation farmer, when Will Harris inherited White Oak Pastures he was a full-time commodity cowboy who played hard and fast with every tool the system offered–chemicals, antibiotics, steroids, and more. His ancestors had built a highly profitable, conventionally run machine, but over time he found himself disgusted with the excess, cruelty, and smalltown devastation this system entailed. So he bet the farm on forging a different way of doing things. One that works with nature not against it, and bridges the quickly widening delta between consumers and their food.

Salt of the Earth Wisdom
Revisado: 12-05-24
Unlike any other book about regenerative farming and sustainable agriculture that I have ever read or listened to. Will Harris' honest and to the point conversation with the reader or listener speaks of the evolution of his own farm throughout the generations of his family to the more animal and earth friendly methods he uses today. Definitely a great book for both the farmer looking to upgrade to a better method of agriculture to the consumer who really wants to learn about where their food comes from and what regenerative farming really is. Will Harris has become the Renaissance Man of farming and the narrative of this book solidifies that fact.

Revisado: 03-19-24
I have to begin with the disclaimer that I am a Star Trek fan. I have been for m9st of my life. Out of all of the different series, Voyager has been my favorite and a lot of that is because of the buy in and amazing portayal of the characters by the actors. Kate Mulgrew especially. This biography was deep and meaningful in that I had always wanted to know more of what shaped Janeway. This book did that and gave me so much more. There had been a lot of questions in my mind about some of the incidents that happened during Voyager's journey in the Delta Quadrant. This book answered them all! Along with that, Janeway debriefs everything that happened after the journey was over. I recommend this book to any Star Trek fan, but especially to those of you who hold Voyager high on the pedistal. Kate Mulgrew has an intoxicating voice whith so much emotion driving it, I felt that Janeway was sitting next to me telling it all. This book is excellent and fun. But you don't have to take my word for it. :-)

This Noble Land is Michener's most personal statement about America, an examination of the issues that threaten to fragment and undermine the nation - racial conflict, the widening gulf between rich and poor, the decline of education, the inadequacies of our health care system - as well as a thought-provoking prescription for sustaining our "outstanding success". First published shortly before Michener's death, This Noble Land stands as a wake-up call for a troubled era, infused with the wisdom and passion of a lifetime.

very impressed with this author. He has written very incredible books that take you all over the place in historic based fiction and Beyond. This book chose his ideas as far as politics and Society. Although I do not agree with everything he writes, I do agree with most of it. For those of you who love this author or who want to see a wise persons Outlook of where our country was going in the mid-to-late 90s, this is a must.

This book will examine how both myth and fact contributed to the culture and traditions of the Polynesians, and how these influences and some stories continue to live on throughout the centuries.

This is a great listen for adults who are either questioning about themselves possibly being autistic or if they have been diagnosed and are researching the basic details of their diagnosis. Great information. And although I prefer to listen to books at 1.4 speed, It was intelligable and easy to listen to the narration.

Enjoyable wisdom.
Revisado: 09-06-20
Peterson uses his metaphoric and direct writing style to depict basic Universal laws to live by. Although I am not an Abrahamic monotheist, I thoroughly enjoyed the passages referenced from both the Old and New Testaments along with those from numerous other faiths and philosophies. In a nutshell, Peterson outlines a crucial philosophy that is sometimes lacking in today's society. His storytelling based on personal experiences makes the book even more enjoyable to read.

Eventually, in an attempt to break free of their recently acquired habit, the newlyweds find their way to the Abbey of Thelema in Italy, where the adults perform invocations to the sun and the children freely recite passages from the Book of the Law.
