This book...or rather audio play...and its presentation are absolutely excellent! The station format reminds me of Coast to Coast AM, and the characters are rich and compelling. Well worth the listen!

A favorite of mine!

This book is one of my favorites by Drew Hayes, and he is one of my favorite authors!
As is always the case with Drew Hayes novels, the characters are most excellent! They are fascinating and have interesting motivations, mannerisms, dimension and depth. My favorite character changes as I traverse the book with the characters, but I guess my ultimate favorite is Jack (since he is my favorite more often than the other two, but only marginally so).
The story is fun, interesting, and compelling. It ties in elements of old stories, binds them together with a great Narrative, and makes it work far more smoothly than I would have expected...but then, it's Drew Hayes, so of course it's good, right?
I really like the narration of this book! When I first downloaded it, I found myself wishing Kyle McCarley had done the narration...and boy was I wrong to do so! The narration is absolutely fantastic! The cadences, pronunciation, inflections, and emphasis are beautiful! It brings everything together absolutely perfectly!
Lastly, there's something else I love about Mr. Hayes' style that I've noticed here as well: If I take a novel of Mr. Hayes that has multiple protagonists and ask myself which of them it is about, I find myself having difficulty providing a good answer. In this case, the book is about all of the characters, but it is also about each of them...individually...but it is also about their relationships with each other.
I especially love that last part.
Thank you for your most excellent work, Mr. Hayes. I remain a devoted fan!

The series has fantastic and compelling characters, each with distinct personalities, motives, goals, and limitations. I also love the clever uses of powers that might otherwise seem to be less than useful!
The narrator has an excellent neutral voice when speaking out of character, but excellent variance of voice for each character.
The author produces consistently excellent work that is heartwarming and beautiful.
Five stars, all around!
