Historia
The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had run the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

When diplomacy has failed and military intervention is deemed inappropriate, our leaders often turn to a silent and dark community for results. This is a course of action not always taken by wise and honorable men. In certain circles it is known as "the third option."

This is not a complete book and seems to me a way to double audible’s profits as we’re required to spend another credit to hear the outcome. Let’s not support this marketing strategy.

Good book I’d prefer less political shots.
Revisado: 08-11-24
I enjoy detective stories but this author always has to take his shots about white privilege and it takes the joy out of reading. Regardless it’s a good story. I would have given all 5s except for that.

Historia
Before he was the Gray Man, Court Gentry was Sierra Six, the junior member of a CIA action team. In their first mission, they took out a terrorist leader, at a terrible price. Years have passed. The Gray Man is on a simple mission when he sees a ghost: the long-dead terrorist, but he's remarkably energetic for a dead man. A decade of time hasn't changed the Gray Man. He isn't one to leave a job unfinished or a blood debt unpaid.

Maybe not the best Gray Man or
Revisado: 12-01-19
Even the authors best work but darn close and an entertaining listen given an exceptional narration/performance by Snyder. Loved the character Hightower. Didn’t like some of The Gray Man “getting old” dialog. I mean he is the purpose of the book. But a serviceable novel and very enjoyable read. Only weak parts had to do with the enemies weapon but I’ll leave that to the listener judgement. I wish Greaney (The Author) would take a page from Marvel and tease us by letting us listen to the Gray mans next assignment and leave us hanging and wanting more. Can’t Wait!

Historia
Ripped from today's headlines, Brian Haig's new novel finds Army lawyer Sean Drummond caught between duty to Washington's elite and the soldiers in Iraq. Dispatched to investigate the suicide of one of D.C.'s most influential defense officials, an ardent, early supporter of the war in Iraq, Drummond and his female partner find themselves in the middle of a tug-of-war between Washington's most influential power brokers and his own personal allegiance to the soldiers dying overseas.

Great Book
Revisado: 08-09-18
3rd book in this series I’ve listened to. While all great, this one is perhaps the best. I took advanced writing classes in college and was told by every professor I had that I was gifted. In truth, I’m a Triple A ball player at best. Haig is the Major Leagues and sometimes only a player can tell the obvious difference. Thanks Brian. World class book!

When I was in college, I was consistently in the top 10% of several gifted writing classes. Now I know what the the top 1% went on to do. This book is seamless with no holes or flaws in the storyline and suspenseful from the opening page. Enjoy. Not many like this one in your library!

Historia
Dirk Pitt, the director of the National Underwater and Marine Agency, is on the Black Sea, helping to locate a lost Ottoman shipwreck, when he responds to an urgent Mayday - "under attack!" - from a nearby freighter. But when he and his colleague, Al Giordino, arrive, there is nobody there. Just dead bodies, a smell of sulfur in the air, and, as Pitt and Giordino explore, a blast from the stern that scuttles the ship swiftly, almost taking them with it.

I give it a B- although Scott Brick was still great
Revisado: 04-27-17
I've listened to a great amount of the authors books and it seemed to me in this one he was a little lazy in the character development. We know the heros but sometimes others are coming and going and because the author doesn't work on developing them much your uncertain. It makes the story a little hard to follow at times. The same is true for the ships they travel on. Rather than saying the Russian ship such and such they dash out a name they introduced 2 chapters before. So if you listen to the book over several days as I did it's hard to remember. That being said I enjoyed the story line.
