Fully revised with forty thousand new words that take the listener up to present-day India, John Keay’s India: A History spans five millennia in a sweeping narrative that tells the story of the peoples of the subcontinent, from their ancient beginnings in the valley of the Indus to the events in the region today.

The Best book on India I've ever read or listened to
Revisado: 10-03-24
1. Extremely thorough. Delves not just into the story, but also how the story was pieced together using scant data for ancient India
2. Great narrator. Often has trouble pronouncing hard indian words, but he did his best.
3. High quality sentences and figures of soeecj

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Props for working hard to ensure scientific accuracy. Engaging story. The part in the middle got boring, but I could see it was necessary.

Never thought an ancient Greek classic could be such an action thriller
Revisado: 07-19-21
These three books have been the best rendition of the greek mythologies. And Stephen fry is the best narrator I've listened to, and I listen to quite a little of audiobooks. When are we getting the Odyssey?

Very shallow. Disappointed.
Revisado: 02-04-19
I was expecting a deeper analysis of the play and its characters.
Instead, it sounds like a middle school essay, and half of the time is spent summarizing the story.
Disappointed.

Historia
Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare’s most compelling Roman plays. The plot against Caesar and the infamous assassination scene make for unforgettable listening. Brutus, the true protagonist of the play, is mesmerizing in his psychological state of anguish, forced to choose between the bonds of friendship and his desire for patriotic justice.

Great performance. Tip: download the book and read it while listening
Revisado: 03-20-18
To follow the play most effectively, download a copy of the book (you can get on for free drop project Gutenberg), and read it while the narrators perform the play.

Historia
For well over 2,000 years, much of our fundamental "desire to know" has focused on science. Our commitment to science and technology has been so profound that these stand as probably the most powerful influences on human culture. To truly understand our Western heritage, our contemporary society, and ourselves as individuals, we need to know what science is and how it developed. In this 36-lecture series, one of science's most acclaimed teachers takes you through science's complex evolution of thought and discovery.

Very parochial view
- De Virginiawallah en 06-25-15
Excellent narration and story, but
Revisado: 04-09-17
It needs to be renamed to 'history of science in the West'.
The author needs to at least acknowledge that it doesn't cover scientific contributions from other parts of the world - especially India and China.
