I have loved this story for more than 40 years, since reading it as a teen. Apparently, I still get choked up while listening to it today. It’s short. And well worth it. An odd sort of Christmas story.

Apparently Disney is coming out with a movie version. I can’t see how they’ll possibly do it. But I hope they don’t screw it up

But to all of you, I heartily recommend this.

A good performance, Bronson Pinchot, much better than I was expecting. Good story, and many will recognize it as the original basis for the movie “Dave”. And debatable about which one was better.

This is a good series. Amusing, engaging, good vocal performance.. But the writing isnt stellar (has a tendency to be a bit too repetitive.) I’ll wait until they put together some more publishers packs before I spend my credits

Love Bob & Nikki!
When I first started book 1, I wasn’t overly impressed. By the end of book 2 I thought “OK, what the hell“ and bought the next. by the time I got to books 5 and 6, I was hooked. And it just keeps getting better. The narration is excellent. And the author has improved as he’s gone along. Sometimes the style is a bit simplistic, but I’m still really enjoying it. Now that we’ve gotten to “squirrel space”I don’t think I can quit.

My first introduction to Bob and Nikki seemed a little iffy. With each subsequent book I enjoyed it more and more. Publishers Pack 3 has been delightful. And now I’m really looking forward to the fourth one.

The only quibble is that by the time you get this one we’ve begun to accumulate so many characters it’s hard to keep them completely straight in my memory. Performance by Chris Ciulla does a fine job of differentiating voices for the most part.
With book one, Jerry Boyd‘s writing left a lot to be desired. But he has grown with experience. Constant repetition of some points was annoying in book one, but now he’s dialed it back to the point where it only provides explication for those that might not be familiar with his earlier writing.

Good job guys!

Very enjoyable, light summer reading. I’m looking forward to listening to the sequel. Narration was good, very solid, could have been a little better dramatized. But overall the characters were captured with a good tone.

Fastastic!! I finished Dead Guy and felt that an epic tale had come to completion. All the threads from the first 5 books wrapped up in an emotionally satisfying way with an imaginatively original way.
I have no idea where Barry Hutchison can go from here; but I can’t wait to get to book 7

The cast and readings of this series are exceptional. But the series itself is like a long slow continuous train wreck. It was recommended to me, but I found the character development to be childish. And I keep expecting the characters to show an emotional growth. But the way Robert Jordan has written them, just makes me want to take a couple of them out to the woodshed. I've gotten this far, because it's like watching a soap opera. Yeah, I know it's not great but I've kind of gotten hooked, and I just keep going. I think it has so jumped the shark that I finally decided I can't take it anymore. Robert Jordan's view of male /female relationships is abysmal. And he keeps hammering home the same sentiments over and over again.
