Fun and exciting
Revisado: 08-15-24
Very fun story. Very steam punk meets Victorian fantasy kind of story. More geared toward younger teenage readers but I enjoyed it

Historia
Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Voice actors did a great job
Revisado: 03-01-24
The actors did an incredible job, conveying the raw motion of the story. The story, however good, was not for me. I have never felt so heartbroken or cried so much in my life reading a book.

Great read
Revisado: 09-15-23
It’s a great read but the author could have done so much more with the ending. It was so abrupt. A chapter should have been dedicated to the heroines after story. Does the millionaire face real justice and get put in jail or does he worm is way out of it by bribing the system like most of the elite do??

Story of a women obsessed with a dead boy
Revisado: 08-16-23
I wanted to like this book but just couldn’t. The main character goes through her whole story obsessed with a dead boy unable to get passed an accident and forgive herself. It made the story dull and repetitive.

Makes me want to read the first edition
Revisado: 06-23-23
Over it is a decent etiquette book. It explains how standards of etiquette and manners in society are slipping and how to adjust them accordingly. The only thing that I didn't like was that the book was trying too hard to be overly politically correct in ways that you wouldn't actually run into in real life. It was a bit much and at times made the story cringeworthy to read.
One thing that I thought was really cool was they included excerpts from the originally 1923 edition showing the contrast in how manners have evolved over that last century.

Historia
International business requires a deep level of industry insight but also a keen understanding of the cultural differences that impact how business is done. If you’re an American working in China or Japan for the first time, you may not realize the way each culture thinks and reasons is quite different from your own, which can lead to frequent misunderstandings. You may be unaware, for example, that Americans reason in a linear manner, Chinese in a lateral manner, and Japanese intuitively.

This book is degrading toward women
Revisado: 10-31-18
This book makes being female look like a disease that can only be solved with drugs. That’s not empowering...it’s degrading. 😡
Have a problem with your female body due to changing hormones? Here, cover up your symptoms with some Prozac...that didn’t work? here, we can top it off with a few more mind-altering anti-depressants. Sex life sucks? We can give you more prescriptions for that too. Now you’re on a narcotic cocktail and still have PMS? Darn. We tried. 🤷🏼♀️
All this book does is try and push drugs to cover symptoms of a women’s naturally changing body. I got this book hoping to learn more about what to except in the years to come as my body changes through different stages though life. The little amount of helpful medical information is outweighed by all of the drug pushing. This book makes being female sound like a disease that you are supposed to mask the symptoms of with drugs. Ugh...gross and the opposite of empowering.
