Historia
Known for his network of conservative websites that draws millions of readers everyday, Andrew Breitbart has one main goal: to make sure the "liberally biased" major news outlets in this country cover all aspects of a story fairly. Breitbart is convinced that too many national stories are slanted by the news media in an unfair way. In Righteous Indignation, Breitbart talks about the key issues that Americans face, how he has aligned himself with the Tea Party, and how one needs to deal with the liberal news world head on.

Addictive!
Revisado: 03-13-11
I've completed the first two parts, and am enthralled. At first, the pace seemed plodding. I tried speeding it up, but it was a bit distorted. However, after an hour or so, I was happily engrossed in the production. I wasn't sure if I would like having music and background dramatization effects, but am loving it. I've been a Bible reader all my life. It's easy to forget that the histories of the OT involved real people living these events in real time. The dramatic effects in this production have reminded me of that fact.
The production quality is excellent. The background effects do not drown out the reading. Rather, they enhance it.

Drawing on new and often startling information from newly opened Soviet, Eastern European, and Chinese archives, this thrilling account explores the strategic dynamics that drove the Cold War, provides illuminating portraits of its major personalities, and offers much fresh insight into its most crucial events. Riveting, revelatory, and wise, it tells a story whose lessons it is vitally necessary to understand as America once more faces an implacable ideological enemy.

My son recommended this book - He was right!
Revisado: 08-04-10
My eldest son called me while listening to this book on a road trip. He was fascinated by it, and told me to see if Audible had it. The kid has right! This is a fascinating read. The author does a good job of connecting the flow of history from Stalin through Viet Nam through Reagan. Nothing happens in a vacuum. This excellent resource in connecting the dots.
The narration also was excellent. A winner on all fronts!

Historia
First published in 1952, Witness came on the heals of America's trial of the century, in which Whittaker Chambers accused Alger Hiss, a full-standing member of the political establishment, of spying for the Soviet Union. In this penetrating philosophical memoir, Chambers recounts the famous case as well as his own experiences as a Communist agent in the United States, his later renunciation of communism, and his conversion to Christianity.

I concur - One of the best on Audible!
Revisado: 08-04-10
One of the reviews which sold me on this listen stated that this was perhaps the best book on Audible. I totally concur. Whittaker Chambers is an amazing writer with a compelling story to tell. The narration is excellent. The history of the Communist Party in the US explains some things about the political landscape today. Chambers is an engaging unassuming individual with insights one can only gain through personal turmoil. Pure excellence!

Grateful for such an excellent narrative.
Revisado: 08-07-09
Such a comprehensive well-written narrative of the events leading to the 9/11 attacks is hard to find, but this book truly delivers! The insights of those whose beliefs and actions led to today's terror networks are thoroughly explored and extremely helpful.
Looking at the excellent reviews posted here, it is hard to find anything unique to say. Just add my voice to the choir of those who say, "Well done! Bravo!!!"

Historia
Careless about dress and demeanor and other worldly fripperies, St. Thomas was a man who enjoyed banquets, conviviality, jokes and pranks. His inner certitude aboutreligious truth permitted him to accept the world and its freedom and it endowed him with a childlike innocence. In what many consider to be his best work, G.K. Chesterton portrays St. Thomas in a light that few have imagined.

Great biography of St. Thomas
Revisado: 07-21-09
Chesterton is a delightful author, and this book is one of his greats. St. Thomas was an interesting character...a great mind. The combination of a memorable subject and Chersteron's rich writing make this a wonderful book.

This explosive new audiobook challenges many of the long-held assumptions about blacks, about Jews, about Germans and Nazis, about slavery, and about education. Plainly written, powerfully reasoned, and backed with a startling array of documented facts, Black Rednecks and White Liberals takes on the trendy intellectuals of our times as well as historic interpreters of American life.

Revisado: 07-21-09
Another great book from Dr. Sowell! This one looks at race issues from all angles...history of populations, education issues, cultural attitudes. All subjects are handled with Dr. Sowell's usual analytical thorough manner, concisely spoken. The narration is excellent. An extremely helpful and interesting listen.
I thoroughly recommend any of Dr. Sowell's other titles. A particularly timely one is Housing Boom and Bust. Another favorite is Quest for Cosmic Justice.

Historia
Cory Friedman woke up one morning when he was five years old with the uncontrollable urge to twitch his neck. From that day forward his life became a hell of irrepressible tics and involuntary utterances, and Cory embarked on an excruciating journey from specialist to specialist to discover the cause of his disease. Soon it became unclear what tics were symptoms of his disease and what were side effects of the countless combinations of drugs. The only certainty is that it kept getting worse. Simply put: Cory Friedman's life was a living hell.

This book was a little difficult to listen to. It opened a window into a troubled mind and body in a very poignant way. It also was most helpful, especially if there is someone in your family or close circle of friends that suffers a similar affliction.

Talibanic enforcers burning books? The Supreme Court deciding that sharia law doesn't violate the "separation of church and state"? The Hollywood Left embracing polygamy? If you think these things can't happen, you haven't been paying attention, as the hilarious and provocative columnist Mark Steyn shows to devastating effect in this, his first book on American and global politics.

I thought this would be another "Rah, Rah America" book. Wrong!!!! It is a fascinating study of demographics and the shift of populations. I pretty much listened straight through! I use earbuds, so it makes my ears ring, but it was worth it! Well done, Steyn!!!
The narration was fine. I had wished Steyn had read it himself, at first, but then fell right in with the narrator. Again, well done!

Look at the long term...it's important!
Revisado: 07-20-09
Look to the long term...that's the main message of Applied Economics. Dr. Sowell is a master of making the complex understandable. This book covers a number of topics such as rent control, land use restrictions, and corporate tax rates. He follows each through to its logical conclusion, pointing out that politicians often cast votes with an eye only on the current election cycle. We need to make wise decisions based on sound facts, not emotion or sound bytes. Dr. Sowell is a very wise man, and a wonderfully effective teacher! Any book he writes is worth reading! 100 percent!!!!
