Great info but not what I expected

This book has a lot of really useful information and it really helps. You learn how to discern credible sources on witchcraft from questionable or even false material. The only reason I knocked it down a star is because it’s called how to study magic so I thought it was more about how to organize your study of magic which is what I was looking for.

A very disenchanting book

Helped me find re-enchantment post pandemic

Feeling enchanted by life was always part of my core experience but after the lockdowns (and many family tragedies) I found myself feeling numb and disconnected. I hear an inner voice say I needed to re-enchant myself. I searched for a book that could help with that and I found this one. I love it! I listen to it while I walk and I’ve the course of the few months I’ve been listening, I have found myself opening up again to that wonder. I am going to buy the physical book too and go through once more!

A good wrap-up to the series

Good plot, sadly riddled with problematic sexism and racism

I can’t believe how much slut shaming and mysoginy is in this book, particularly in how the female villains are treated. There is also shady non-consensual sex, this whole series starts with a female performing a non-consensual fellatio on male character in his sleep and the narrative shows no self-awareness about it. For a BDSM novel you would think they would be much more sophisticated in the understanding of consent. I liked the plot so it’s really disappointing. Not to mention that all the characters are White af. Heavenly rising, another book written by the same authors, was also so lacking in diversity and the one memorable non-White character was a disgustingly racist caricature of a Mexican man. These authors really need to do a little work on their biases. This crap cannot fly in this day and age
