Annoying narrator and specious arguments make for a spurious conclusion.
Revisado: 07-18-24
The narrator channels an Elizabethan actor and over dramatizes every passage. The story, although chock full of interesting facts ( or impressions) draws an interesting picture of the post WWII US government, assuming the author is submitting facts. But the book goes off the rails when he tries to construct a solid case against the CIA, FBI, President Johnson, and various titans of industry as the actual killers of JFK. He is right in his belief that the Warren report was deeply flawed, and that there was most probably a conspiracy behind the Kennedy assassination. However, his theory of who was behind the plot has no substance and impugns many Americans without any evidence.

Historia
The Kennedy name has long been synonymous with wealth, power, glamor, and—above all else—integrity. But this carefully constructed veneer hides a dark truth: the pattern of Kennedy men physically and psychologically abusing women and girls, leaving a trail of ruin and death in each generation’s wake. Through decades of scandal after scandal—from sexual assaults to reputational slander, suicides to manslaughter—the family and their defenders have kept the Kennedy brand intact.

Riveting story of Kennedy men and their abuse of women
Revisado: 07-08-24
Excellent detail which adds the detail to what we heard was true but was always refuted by the Kennedy sycophants. The details really show what this family is like and how they always rally around family members whether they are murderers misogynists or just cruel to those who love them

Taking us from the French Revolution to the Cold War, Andrew Roberts presents us with a bracingly honest and deeply insightful look at nine major figures in modern history: Napoleon Bonaparte, Horatio Nelson, Winston Churchill, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, George C. Marshall, Charles de Gaulle, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Margaret Thatcher. Each one of these leaders fundamentally shaped the outcome of the war in which their nation was embroiled.

Very good review of those leaders picked to report on
Revisado: 05-15-24
very succinct and hit some very interesting high points and low points for each. But as the last chapter demonstrated there were several other war time leaders (Lincoln do instance) who were not listed. I might have dropped Hitler from the list since he made more unforgivable mistakes than he made correct choices, and discussed several more leaders in just a bit more depth. That said. It was a succinct and cogent précis of many of the Great War leaders and their strengths.

Historia
When Clarence Thomas joined the Supreme Court in 1991, he found with dismay that it was interpreting a very different Constitution from the one the framers had written - the one that had established a federal government manned by the people's own elected representatives, charged with protecting citizens' inborn rights while leaving them free to work out their individual happiness themselves, in their families, communities, and states.
