This book is extremely well researched and organized. The writing is clear and the narrator does a great job. Even though there are a fair amount of numbers and statistics, the author clearly explains his research methods and the meaning of the data, without insulting the intelligence of the reader. The data does not detract from the narrative, but rather enhances his thesis.

Good if you like battles

I thought this was going to be more of a social history, and it was a bit towards the beginning, but the second half was a blow by blow account of King Philip's War. It's a well written, good book if that is what you are looking for, but I found it dry and boring.

Great book, wish Ruth Goodman was reading

The book is fantastic and interesting, but the narrator was dreadfully boring. I wish I would have just gotten the Kindle version and read it myself.
Ruth Goodman is such a great presenter, I wonder why she didn't read it. She is so passionate, but the narrator they choose made even the most interesting parts sound dry.
