the overall story of the fighting between tribes. and the fighting with the intrusive whites with their worthless treaties. A man in that era had to have skills that don't exist today. The struggle for what should still be native lands goes on. I wish their way to exist longer than the greedy white peoples

I dislike the practice of whoever deemed it appropriate to censor some harsh language. I doubt it is in the printed version. why some prude decided it needed to be done in this audio version is very much questionable

I was on the edge of my chair till the last chapter. the intriguing nature and detail fell away to a very well used narrative of spy espionage. double agents
did not stand up to the rest of the story well

why is all I can ask

I had only made through 2 chapters before bailing on this adventure. The reader no more understands the subject than the two women who rode it. lazy and very in experienced. But they did do a lot of groups rides before. apparently leaning nothing about maintaining a Bicycle. Will no finish this tale, but hope they have learned more than this book delivers in adventure.

A man I hardly knew

Basic US history never reaches the depth of any individual historic figures. This book was the most enjoyable story of life as it happens to just a plain man. And how every event in ones life can stear towards greatness or tragedy. I only wish such men were standing today in our selfish individual society.

truly for the beginner

if you have been riding for more than a year. you will have learned most of this common stuff.
and unless you have only riden in jean shorts around the block. there is nothing better than Spandex and padding on your butt. along with butt lube.
