Historia
In a world filled with powerful witches and wizards, Professor Marcus Orren is about as magical as your average brick, leading to a life of rampant cynicism, coupled with mild-to-moderate alcohol abuse. His latest theory, an academic rebuttal of a God named Tomas, stands so air-tight that the Universe itself is forced to agree, promptly erasing the actual Tomas straight from existence. Unfortunately for Marcus, there are hundreds of Gods roaming the heavens above, and nearly all are the type to hold a grudge.

I found chapters mixed up and missing.
Revisado: 10-05-22
I was a bit confused halfway in when it seemed like a chapter was skipped, but now I'm frustrated that it completely replaced one in the finale and I now don't understand the end fully.
The story in it self is very entertaining.

Historia
Landover was a genuine magic kingdom, with fairy folk and wizardry, just as the advertisement has promised. But after he purchased it, Ben Holiday learned that there were a few details the ad had failed to mention. The kingdom was in ruin. The Barons refused to recognize a king, and the peasants were without hope. A dragon was laying waste the countryside, while an evil witch plotted to destroy everything.

Old school Fantasy
Revisado: 05-10-22
This is an older fantasy novel and it's clear that it was written in a different time. Both in a good and bad way.
The describing of the heroine is almost worthy of r/menwritingwomen on reddit. At the same time the hero recognise misplaced anger, have a personal developmental journey and is, in a way, far more innocent than a modern person would be.

Historia
Fourteen-year-old Mona isn't like the wizards charged with defending the city. She can't control lightning or speak to water. Her familiar is a sourdough starter, and her magic only works on bread. She has a comfortable life in her aunt's bakery making gingerbread men dance. But Mona's life is turned upside down when she finds a dead body on the bakery floor. An assassin is stalking the streets of Mona's city, preying on magic folk, and it appears that Mona is his next target. And in an embattled city suddenly bereft of wizards, the assassin may be the least of Mona's worries.

Excellent YA novel, with classical tropes with fresh angles and great world building!
I'm especially weak for specialised powers and this satisfied that itch.

Historia
All that Tacca GloomLily ever wanted to be since she was very little was a fairy assistant to a Dungeon Core. After her negatively portentous birth, however, she was never fully accepted by her superstitious peers and instructors at the Dungeon Assistant Preparatory School. Nevertheless, she persisted in her studies and graduated at the top of her class. Unfortunately for her, the “hands-on” training she was supposed to receive from a mentor and his bonded Dungeon Core didn’t go the way she would’ve hoped.

Entertaining
Revisado: 02-03-22
This isn't a master piece but it's really entertaining and a bit different. The whole series in one bundle is a good bonus since it should have been two longer books instead of four.
The premis with the main character being a schooled dungeon fairy and as such have more inside information does make sense, and gives the character some freedom that Dungeon Core novels have a hard time justifying.
A bit skeptic about a continuation but I'll probably bite.
Narrator does mess up sometimes with what is said in which characters voice and should work on female voices but does his job well.

Got my Fred-fix!
Revisado: 09-04-21
The soothingly humble story of one of the gentlest characters in literary history is still ongoing.
Kirby Heybornes narration of Fred is excellent as always, providing the fundation with a soft and kind voice thru out the story.
Unusually fastpaced start, and intense towards the finale with a heart warming ending, but the pattern of short stories building the novel is still here.
Now we have to wait for the next installment in the House of Fred. :*(

Historia
Annabelle Aster doesn't bow to convention—not even that of space and time—which makes the 1890s Kansas wheat field that has appeared in her modern-day San Francisco garden easy to accept. Even more exciting is Elsbeth, the truculent schoolmarm who sends Annie letters through the mysterious brass mailbox perched on the picket fence that now divides their two worlds. In this unconventional and enchanting tale, Annie and her new neighbor must solve the mystery of what connects them before one of them is convicted of a murder that has yet to happen—and somehow already did.

Narrator needs a hug.
Revisado: 04-21-21
I can't really grade the story, since I had to stop due to the narrators preformance. She sounds oddly frail, rushing sentences with a small vibration in her voice. It sounds as if she's trying to not have a panic attack and is almost crying.
As someone who's struggling with depression it's affecting me too much to continue listening, maybe in a couple of years I can give it another go.

Historia
Medical-school-dropout police detective Richelle Dadd is...well, dead. But that won't stop her from trying to hold on to her house in a divorce battle with a bitter husband. Or keep her from digging into her own murder, to discover who put the bullet into her heart. Or from coming to terms with her Gypsy heritage. And it certainly won't stand in the way of finding out the reason she's been reanimated as a zombie assassin, no longer in control of her life.

This is such a lazy disapointment.
Revisado: 04-19-21
Wow, what to critique first...
This is so lazily written that I couldn't get thru the second chapter. It's full of common mistakes, cheap outs and riddikulus excuses to just move on to what the author really want to write. The disinterest is contagious and left everything lacking. Even the choice to write from a first person perspektivet feels grounded in sloth.
I'm positive from the 5 star reviews that there are some highlights, but the author would benefit to do a rewrite. Less "cover my lily white ass" and instead some nice impactful introductions. Hopefully a propper reasoning from the Boss on how to explain the zombie (who still haven't figured out herself that she's one,) to the other cops that saw her dead.
This demonstrates one of the hardest lessons in literature: If you can't make something work, then remove it.

It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

A Real Plot!
Revisado: 04-19-21
A solid 4 in this genre. It's not the best book in the world, but it's the best LitRPG I've had on Audible. A solid and well versed narator that gives a nice gravitas and pace to the story. And to everyones chock and horror: a plot that doesn't rely on why the main character is transported to this realm! There's actual plot! To be honest just for that I'm going back and giving the story a 5 star. Still a 4 star overall, it's not going to win a Nobel prize.

Sherman Holmes has officially settled into his new city, and the World's Greatest Detective Agency has opened its doors. While his put-upon partner, Watson, would be happy to keep the jobs as simple as missing pets, when a worried worker with an outlandish tale of ghosts walks in, there's no stopping Sherman from taking the case. Now, the new duo must investigate a local "haunted" tourist site where the scares are going off-script and otherworldly interference is suspected.

Just as enjoyable as the first one.
Revisado: 02-27-21
I really like Drew Hayes works and this one is written with heart! I try to not give things a 5-star raiting based on feelings in the moment thou, and this is not going to be nominated for a Nobel prize. Mostly because they'd never accept really entertaining literature.
It's heartwarming to hear of Sherman in his (somewhat) natural environment, and sometimes I get the feeling of Watson in the roll of a protective sibling, taking care of a brother as the parents were lost to soon. Not sure if that's what the author aimed for but I love it.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.
