Beautiful story about the early Christians after Christ's death and resurrection. I hope it can have this level of courage when the need arises.

A Wonderful Addition to the Ivy Hill series
Revisado: 10-23-24
It was great to reconnect with some of the wonderful characters at Ivy Hill. The performance was just as good as in previous performances. The story was good, but wished it was a little longer and/ or developed. Overall great listen.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, full of mysterious goings-on at the infamous Pembrook Park Manor, which has seen its share of headache. It even has a secret room!
Wonderful story, and fabulous performance for this historical novel.

Love the historical tie-in
Revisado: 09-21-24
I was unsure of this book at first, as I found the main character extremely annoying. However, when her adventure takes her to rural Kentucky, and she becomes involved with the horseback librarians, the reader has the blessing of hearing the character bloom in adversity and grow in wisdom, understanding, and maturity. One also has the opportunity of expressing the deepest gratitude for our modern convenience as we read about the poor folks of coal mining country in rural Kentucky. Great read/ listen.

A wonderful "object" lesson and story.
Revisado: 09-16-24
Susan Meissner weaves a wonderful story spanning 100 years, bringing the tale of lives and love to light through a shared object...a beautiful scarf. This tale brings the courageous endeavors, and sometimes suffering, of Ellis Island immigrants and the devastation of the World Trade Centers, and the effects on all those who were involved with them together, with a mutual healing and hope for the future. Wonderfully written, wonderfully performed.
