Average "monster" story.

Is okay if nothing else striking you. Dialogue not as "snappy" or "quick" as Joe/Skippy or Monster Hunter. "Stories" not as compelling as Iron Hearts, Terrian Corps, Bob, B Sanderson, DJ, and many others. Reminded me of Twilight YA type drama but from werewolf perspective.

Acceptable story compromised by PC.

Acceptable EMP story made silly by PC views. US ~ destroyed by North Korea nukes, commandos, and WWII subs. China benevolently aids failing US. Post-apocalyptic threats include Hispanic gangs and "right-winged" groups; no mention of ANTIFA, BLM, or any of the folks that already riot, loot, commit arson, and threaten populace.

Those who like objective US history will enjoy. Author references Marion's personal writings as well as the writings of his contemporaries. The life of the man, flaws and all, and his environment (we take so much for granted) are described. Unlike the morass of pop culture entertainers described as such, Francis Marion was "amazing."

Learned lesson to NOT buy books on-sale...

I started listening to this book and within a few minutes realized was not for me- story, narration, everything. Unfortunately I purchased well over a year ago, so cannot return. I wish audible had you a "grace" period that started after buyer actually started listening to book,/downloaded. This should serve as warning to everyone to NOT stock up on books when they are on-sale. If you do then you will undoubtedly buy some you don't like, but will be stuck with.

RC Bray perfect. Enjoyed series until final book.

Unfortunately, the author went out of his way to clumsily make a ridiculous point (re Handin, Sarah, Henno). So,.. must we save Dr Park and his research at ALL costs or is it more important that I internally prove a point to myself for the sake of a dead collegue? Dr Park's location is at imminent risk of being overran, but I can't send at least a few guys to help defend a breach (into his location) that is only being guarded by 3 people. Really? What happened to the "sacrifice everything to save the scientist" philosophy?
Its to bad, this contradiction sort of puts a negative spin on the whole series.

On it's own, this book is not horrible. Unfortunately, you could change a few locations and villains, then it could be almost any one of the previous books. Not sure if I will continue series. Great narration.

Serious and funny with deprecating "hero."

Story is slow to start, but worth wait. Protagonist is unwilling, funny hero. Recommend if you like fantasy.
