Historia
How the world's leading innovators push their ideas to fruition, time and time again. Edison famously said that genius is 1 percent inspiration, 99 percent perspiration. Ideas for new businesses, solutions to the world's problems, and artistic breakthroughs are common, but great execution is rare. According to Scott Belsky, the capacity to make ideas happen can be strengthened by anyone willing to build their organizational habits and harness the forces of community.

Historia
The rules for living in the real world have changed, because the world we live in has changed. Much of the conventional wisdom the last generation has passed on just doesn't apply like it once did. If you want to win, and win big, and, more importantly, keep what you work so hard for, you need a crystal-clear view of how the real world works - not how you wish it worked, but how it actually works.

If, as an Australian, you can get past the Americanisms, this is a great book with great advice. Really changed my thinking. Dr Phil is very easy to listen to. I went and bought the printed copy too.

Networking for People Who Hate Networking

Historia
Devora Zack, an avowed introvert and a successful consultant who speaks to thousands of people every year, found that most networking advice books assume that to succeed you have to become an extrovert. Or at least learn how to fake it. Not at all. There is another way. This audiobook shatters stereotypes about people who dislike networking. They’re not shy or misanthropic. Rather, they tend to be reflective - they think before they talk. They focus intensely on a few things rather than broadly on a lot of things. And they need time alone to recharge.

So that's why I hate networking!
Revisado: 04-20-13
Always hated networking. Can't believe it took me to now to understand why! and that it is OK! Looking back over my life I realise I do a lot of what Devora Zack does - hanging out by the refreshment table, disappearing to re energise, speaking well to a crowd if I am 'given permission" but not in an informal group. Well worth reading and made me quite happy. Highly recommend to anyone who thinks they are shy and highly recommend to all teachers who make us 'find a partner' and 'work in groups'.

Historia
There just isn't enough time for everything on our to-do list - and there never will be. Successful people don't try to do everything. They learn to focus on the most important tasks and make sure those get done. They eat their frogs. There's an old saying that if the first thing you do each morning is eat a live frog, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you're done with the worst thing you'll have to do all day. For Tracy, eating a frog is a metaphor for tackling your most challenging task - but also the one that can have the greatest positive impact on your life.

Just do it!
Revisado: 04-20-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I certainly recommend this book. Most of us know that we are supposed to just get on with things but we procrastinate so much. Brian Tracy reminds us to just do it and do it FIRST. I hesitated to indulge in yet another time management book; I read them all and think I know it all by now- I suspect these are a form of procrastination for me - when the book is finished, I will start... But this one lit a fire cracker under me.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Eat That Frog!?
The mental picture and sensations of eating an ugly old frog really worked for me in making me pick up the phone and make that difficult call or whatever it is I needed to do.
Which scene was your favorite?
The advice that if you have a lot of frogs to eat..pick the biggest and ugliest.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened to this on my way to work each day. Marched in to the office and ate the biggest frog! Cant tell you how much better I feel after a week of this. Only tadpoles left.

Would you consider the audio edition of Unstuff Your Life to be better than the print version?
Lovely voice to listen to so I loved the audio edition.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Unstuff Your Life?
I finally got it that the stuff Im keeping is NOT the person who gave it to me. It is just STUFF. A great book to help you declutter and organise.
What about Andrew J. Mellen’s performance did you like?
Voice is great for audio.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
