audio bleep censorship...

To justify my 2 star for the performance, Both of the narrators did a fantastic job. I have no complaints about the way they chose to read the story. My problem is the fact that they chose audio bleep sensoring on specific words in the story that were, kind of, sort of, partially adult suggestive. Meanwhile they're throwing around words like "shit" and "damn it" at will freely and willy-nilly. There are audio books on this service that could be classified as straight porn and they chose this one to get all retentive about.

A good book with an unfortunate ending.

I say an unfortunate ending because it ends on a cliffhanger that I fear will never be resolved. The book was written in 2018, and I've just listened to it now in 2021. If there were a sequel it would have come out by now. And that is truly unfortunate because it's actually a Decent story. It provided a rarely unique perspective on the mech genre. it's a decent listen and I'm not sorry that I got it, but buyer beware, the ending will leave you partially unsatisfied.

interesting but still a bit predictable.

Things in this story were just on the cusp of being less predictable than the others. I'm wondering if the author is just that good at foreshadowing. In any case, be sure to have something to do while you listen and you will be entertained. Grate narration, would recommend.

Still good background noise

As I've said with my reviews of all the previous books, this one is best served alongside of other activity. But if my suspicions are correct then it's starting to move away from just background noise into a story you may need to pay attention to. As far as this story goes, it will keep you entertained while you're doing some other monotonous tasks. Good narration, would recommend.

Finally, something less predictable.

much like my other reviews for the previous books, this one is best listen to while you're doing something else. However, much to my delight this one actually threw me for a loop in a few places. I've seen too many shows and movies, and I've read too many books to be surprised by all of the plot points. However there were a few moments inside the book where I was genuinely surprised and it made me rethink how the story was going to go. Thankfully though, this is still an easy-to-follow story that I can recommend for busybodies like myself.

I was wondering when it was going to happen.

much like many of my previous reviews for the last few books, not a very inspired story. it is still a good book to listen to while you're doing other things, like hiking in my case. I do enjoy the narrator and the effort that he goes to in order to bring the story to life. I'm finding more and more that the author enjoys chekhov's gun as of writing technique. but unfortunately because I've seen stories like this play out before I was able to see where the book was going before the halfway point. don't get me wrong, it didn't stop me from enjoying it. now with all that out of the way, yes, I would still recommend as a nice background noise.

Less predictable than previous entries.

Although I could still see where the book was going throughout the book, the path that they chose to get there was a little bit less predictable. Found myself enjoying the journey. but I'm starting to wonder if the author watches a bit of anime. If any of you know Natsu from the show Fairy Tail then you will know what I mean. Overall, still good background noise and would recommend.

Entertaining and easy to follow

another book in the series down, and much has remained the same. The story is still a little on the simple side, but I found it has become my favorite soundtrack to when I'm doing more important things. The main character is my flavor of cheeky smartass. Although it was a little disappointing to see one of the more interesting characters get devolved into Captain exposition; overall it was a good listen, would still recommend.

I'm not sorry I listened to it

once again, not a very inspired story. However, it's not bad by any stretch. The story is very simple and easy to follow, and I'll be it that the plot points can be very predictable at some points. But that can be a good thing especially if you are like me and listen to books while doing chores or cooking dinner. You can still perfectly understand the story while distracted doing other things. 4 out of 5, would recommend.

Good background noise

Basically it's a re-imagining of Pokemon, with hints of a harem anime. not the most inspired story ever, however it was enjoyable. It might not be something to Captivate your attention from beginning to end. Although I must say, it may doing my house chores far more bearable. It's worth the purchase, and would recommend.
