More of the same. Predictable but enjoyable.

R. C. Bray is outstanding. The dialog between the Skipster and Joe is the glue that holds this series together. It is very entertaining and at times, laugh out loud funny. While more of the same, it doesn't disappoint.

Perfectly Ordinary

I knew I wasn't about to read a Pendergast novel, but this from Preston & Child?!?? Me thinks P&C are embarking on the same ship Koontz has been sailing: The HMS Unremarkable.
The characters, the story and the protagonist: perfectly ordinary…certainly NOT Preston & Child material. Don't waste the credits. If you must read it, wait until you see it in one of Audible's $4.95 sales.

This is just a great book and an excellent begining to a promising triology. All the elements are here...excellently written, superb narration, multidimensional characters, a large world, magic, violence, romance, war, and politics. Sometimes funny, always engaging and thoroughly enjoyable…sucks you in and pins you there as you ride along with the story. Easily on par with Mistborn, A Song of Fire and Ice and The Wheel of Time. Can't wait to hear books 2 and 3.

Changes - might not be for the best

As the title suggests, Dresden's world is about to change. Not sure how I feel about this installment. I have read/listened to all the Dresdan books. The writing is as good, if not better, than previous books. However, I did not care for the story as much as previous installments. Still good, but a different feel. Appears to be a mulit-book story as the ending is styled differently from previous books.

This book grabs you and DOES NOT LET GO! I could not put it down.
Just a side bar for those interested...according to the Vince Flynn web site...Flynn has signed a multi picture deal - Mitch Rapp is coming to the big screen!

The first of 6 books (according to Wikipedia)...magic, fantasy, suspense, mythology all in one book. Nicholas Flammel guides twins with immense un-tapped magical powers on a quest to re-capture an infamous book written thousands of years ago. Aided by characters from Mythology, a blind "Elder" witch with a New York accent, Ware-bores and others, they stand against the sinister Necromancer Dr. Dee and the "Dark Elders".

A Marvolous historical novel! From inside Eisenhower’s Headquarters to uncontrollable tirades in Hitler’s Bunker, to North African battles between the armies led by Montgomery, Patton and Rommel, to Colonel Gavin’s Airborne holding off the Panzers from the American infantry landing in Sicily, Jeff Shaara graphically takes us from battles in North Africa to the beginning stages of Operation Overload in England. Meticulously researched and wonderfully written...absolutely worth the 2 credits. Just a great listen.

John Corey and FBI wife Kate are back, sarcastic as ever. Scott Brick turns in another great narration - Scott Brick IS John Corey. Not as exciting as Lion's Game...closer to Night Fall. The antagonist is James Bond megalomaniacal and the story will push at your suspension of disbelief a tad(compared to Lion's Game or Night Fall anyway)but a good DeMille read. Entertaining and it's John Corey.
