Maybe it was read by AI but the pronunciation of all the Mayan Aztec Zapotec names were atrocious, and I cringed every time. It was really just kind of a flossing over the surface type of history. Wish it had gotten more in depth.

It was a pretty good book except for the author beating the dead horse of same sex attraction. Too many swear words as well. Would it kill authors to just write a freaking normal moral book.

The book is a fictional representation of the Donner Party, not bad for a story I just can’t abide all the swearing with is so Unnecessary

This was a great historical book on Stephen’s and Catherwood and their lives, their adventures and their discoveries of the Maya. I lived in Guatemala and could relate to the hoards of mosquitos, bugs, storms, rainy season and the people. If you’re interested in history, the Maya or exploration-this is your book!

This book sounded pretty interesting however the narrator must have been drinking a lot of coffee when he recorded this! I actually turned down the speed of the narrator. That helped but I couldn’t even follow the story line until the last 2 hours when it got pretty good. I did make it to the end however there were times I didn’t think I’d make it! Interesting story premise with the use of Mayan legends and lore however, no need for swear words! They do not add one good thing to the story!

I really enjoyed this book about what would happen if the poles changed places. I love the science included and the great characters that live through this harrowing time. The only thing I’d change would be taking out the swear words. I listened to the 4 books audible has and I was engaged the entire time.

So I am a big fan of James Rollins, he’s a lot like Clive Cussler, except he swears a lot more. This book made me chuckle because it talked extensively about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and trying to say the Nephites lived in the US, and other funny yet not correct assumptions about the church. Please don’t believe all they infer, most of it is inaccurate. Don’t let that stop you from reading the book. It was a fun fantasy listen. To find out the real story goto www.churchofjesuschrist.org

I really liked the story line, it keeps you guessing. Having the two narrators really bugged me. I think it was the style in which they switched off. But don’t let that stop you from listening. A clean book, those are hard to find!

Have you ever gone to a movie and found that it was a five minute story made to stretch longer than 2 hours? That’s this book.
I love detailed story lines and great character development and that takes time. Too bad this book lacks both and instead drones on and on without adding anything interesting for the reader.

Cookie cutter storyline, carbon copy of a few other overworked stories. This book is much too predictable.
