Historia
Francis Ford Coppola is one of the great American dreamers, and his most magnificent dream is American Zoetrope, the production company he founded in San Francisco years before his gargantuan success, when he was only thirty. Through Zoetrope’s experimental, communal utopia, Coppola attempted to reimagine the entire pursuit of moviemaking. Now, more than fifty years later, despite myriad setbacks, the visionary filmmaker’s dream persists, most notably in the production of his decades-in-the-making film and the culmination of his utopian ideals, Megalopolis.

Book is terrific, performance horrible
Revisado: 02-08-24
The narrator almost put me off this. He sounds like AI, pronounces Spanish and Italian place names like a Spaniard or Italian and mispronounces simple things like the name “Marcia” and calls Warner Brothers Warner Bros which I realize is stylized that way in the book but shows a complete lack of knowledge about the subject.

Horrible reading
Revisado: 11-17-21
The woman reading is absolutely terrible. So many mispronounced words and names, it’s embarrassing. Almost spoiled an excellent book.

Historia
There have been many books - on a large and small scale - about Steve Jobs, one of the most famous CEOs in history. But this book is different from all the others. Becoming Steve Jobs takes on and breaks down the existing myth and stereotypes about Steve Jobs. The conventional, one-dimensional view of Jobs is that he was half genius, half jerk from youth, an irascible and selfish leader who slighted friends and family alike.

Good book, brilliantly read
Revisado: 09-17-15
I enjoyed the book very much, but I think its important to note that the performance by the narrator on this audiobook is outstanding. His reading is clear and very easy on the ears. I'm inclined to seek out some other books he has narrated.

Historia
Bill Bryson and his family live in a Victorian parsonage in a part of England where nothing of any great significance has happened since the Romans decamped. Yet one day, he began to consider how very little he knew about the ordinary things of life as he found it in that comfortable home. To remedy this, he formed the idea of journeying about his house from room to room to “write a history of the world without leaving home.”

I Love Bill Bryson
Revisado: 03-20-13
I love Bill Bryson, and its such a pleasure to have a title that he also reads himself. Bryson makes the most seemingly mundane things absolutely fascinating. If you liked "A Short History of Nearly Everything", you'll love this.

Historia
In his giant New York Times best seller, America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It, Mark Steyn predicted collapse for the rest of the Western World. Now, he adds, America has caught up with Europe on the great rush to self-destruction. What will a world without American leadership look like? It won’t be pretty—not for you and not for your children. America’s decline won’t be gradual, like an aging Europe sipping espresso at a café until extinction. No, America’s decline will be a wrenching affair marked by violence and possibly secession.

Steyn is Terrific
Revisado: 03-20-13
The best audiobooks are the ones that are read by the author. And the best of those are the ones where the author has a great voice, and Steyn is one of those guys. Best of all, he's smart AND he's funny. You can't beat that.
I read this book and then went and bought the audiobook to hear it read to me again. Its that good.
And Steyn is right on the money about EVERYTHING, but even if you don't agree with his politics, he's still fascinating.
