Historia
A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C. S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old devil to his nephew Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging and humorous account of temptation - and triumph over it - ever written.

Great reading of a “proper” devil
Revisado: 10-25-24
Can’t say more than this book has opened my eyes to the demonic oppression that we all face in our lives. We don’t see it or feel it all of the time, but it is always there. This was an amazing listen.

James Earl Jones (New Testament reading) and Jon Sherberg (Old Testament) combine their incredible vocal talents in one of the most critically acclaimed Holy Bible recordings ever. These two lush baritone vocals are the perfect complement to one another. Mr. Jones’ skilled and resonating reading has been hailed as one of the greatest New Testament recordings of all time. Combined with Jon Sherberg’s powerful and passionate delivery of the Old Testament, this beautiful audio rendition of The Holy Bible will leave your heart full and spirt nourished.

Glory to the most high

This has helped me gain more knowledge and faith. I still think one should read it on the page, but when you have time to listen while completing daily activities this helps greatly. No complaints except for one small case. The audio on James’ voice gets distorted quite often, and it takes you out of the reading. Don’t know if there is a way to clean it up, but overall the readers did a great job!

Historia
When Rin aced the Keju - the Empire-wide test to find the most talented youth to learn at the Academies - it was a shock to everyone: to the test officials, who couldn’t believe a war orphan from Rooster Province could pass without cheating; to Rin’s guardians, who believed they’d finally be able to marry her off and further their criminal enterprise; and to Rin herself, who realized she was finally free of the servitude and despair that had made up her daily existence. That she got into Sinegard - the most elite military school in Nikan - was even more surprising.

Almost perfect
Revisado: 01-14-23
A great story. No complaints besides the main characters lack of wits within a portion of the story. It was made to seem that she had a brilliant mind, but some choices left me shaking my head. Overall the poppy war is a great grimdark outing.

Historia
Bedeckt defined himself by the list of crimes he was unwilling to commit. It was such a short list. How could straying from it have gone so wrong? Now, Bedeckt must undo the damage caused by wandering from his precious list. The Geborene god seeks to remake the world with his obsessive need for cleanliness and perfection, but Bedeckt is going to bring him down. Nothing can stop him. Not even death. But the two friends he abandoned in the Afterdeath chase after him, bent on revenge.

Good but……
Revisado: 12-08-22
The story, same as the first is hauntingly interesting, but lacks any real substance. You still don’t fully understand how the entire world works. Other than in the city states where delusion and madness equal power, you don’t know if that is how the whole world is, or just this small hardly descript setting. It feels like nothing was really accomplished, and is just filler until the next book. I’d like to know if there are any “sane” humans left, or if the whole world has succumbed to madness. Things are hinted at in the first two books, but never really made manifest. Hoping for a good conclusion cause right now this series just feels like it’s gruesome for the sake of being gruesome.

Historia
In the endless forests of the Wild, humanity scratches a living by the side of the great Godroads, paths of crystal that provide safe passage and hold back the infernal tide. Creatures lurk within the trees, watching, and plucking those who stray too far from safety. In crystal castles held aloft on magical currents, seven timeless royal families reign, protecting humanity from the spread of the Wild and its demons. Born and reborn into flawless bodies, the Deathless are as immortal as the precious stones from which they take their names. For generations a fragile balance has held.

I needed more
Revisado: 11-29-22
This is not a bad story, but I can’t say it is good either. I needed more world building, and a bit more insight into each main characters plans. This book is very heavy on the political/family intrigue side of fantasy. Those looking for big battles, and living in a new world will find this first entry wanting.
