This is a tale of murder. Or maybe that’s not quite true. At its heart, it’s a love story, isn’t it? Lana Farrar is a reclusive ex-movie star and one of the most famous women in the world. Every year, she invites her closest friends to escape the English weather and spend Easter on her idyllic private Greek island.

Good twist on story line and you do grow to care for the characters but not the gut wrenching story line I have come to expect.

Clever and funny
Revisado: 02-15-23
Stanley Bing presents a clever, tongue in cheek humor similar to Monty Python, comparison of the history of Rome and its achievements as well as stumbling blocks to that of modern day business. I found it entertaining and worth the listen.

Impressive
Revisado: 11-12-22
I have read most of Connelly’s books and all of Boesch books. This one was intriguing, good character development and I cared about the characters. Sad in places especially as we now see our hero detective aging (as am I so I really relate as well). Yet he is incredibly motivated to solve crimes and put things right with acuity and insight. I am starting to like Renee Ballard more and look forward to her sleuthing. Keep writing, please.

I thought this would b a little throw away read to add to the vast number of books I have read about artists, as it is fiction. But Camille Aubrey brings three generations together with a crafted story line that kept calling me back. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Historia
The once idyllic coastal plain of North Carolina is home to a close-knit, rural community that for more than a generation has battled the polluting practices of large-scale farming taking place in its own backyard. After years of frustration and futility, an impassioned cadre of local residents, led by a team of intrepid and dedicated lawyers, filed a lawsuit against one of the world’s most powerful companies—and, miraculously, they won. Wastelands takes us into a legal battle over the future of America’s farmland and the lives of the people who found the courage to fight.

Revisado: 09-17-22
A true horrific story told with kindness and humanity that reads like a novel. I felt the pain and the plaintiffs and rejoiced in every little win. I was horrified by the bullying that goes on daily in our world, the insignificance given to people of color by agro an big money. Totally worth the listen.
