Between this and “This Naked Mind” I stopped drinking almost overnight. No cravings, no meetings, no judgement. This after a forty year relationship with alcohol.
Listen to it.

Historia
So many board members - especially of small nonprofits - want to support a nonprofit and readily accept the invitation to join the board. It's only then that they discover they are in over their heads, with no idea of their expectations and responsibilities. The Little Book of Boards is here to throw that drowning board member a rope.

Basic but for a new board member may help.
Revisado: 03-08-15
What could Erik Hanberg have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Tough subject to really make "enjoyable". The appendix on diversity felt preachy and was followed by how to attract wealthy members. Could have been addressed very simply without all the social justice and accompanying PC chatter.
Stick to finding the best board members for your organization and its mission, judge them by content of their character not the color of their skin (or gender or sex orientation or wealth, etc), their likely chemistry with your board, competence and capacity to contribute.
Any additional comments?
The author tackled writing this book so good on him. For a new board member every little bit to help them succeed is good. The fact that someone would buy this on their own is a good sign they will contribute to the mission.
