Narrator
Revisado: 11-08-23
I wish I could afford to hire a narrator to redo the series. I’m on the first book, but having enjoyed the Patricia Fisher Cruise series, I’m trying to muddle through. The narrator is absolutely atrocious. Her inflections and sing songy voice almost make listening unbearable.

Jumping the shark a bit.
Revisado: 10-26-23
For the most part, I enjoyed the story, however, the zombie scene was a bit much. Also, the new narrator kept changing Barbie’s voice from the sweet, somewhat airheaded yet gorgeous 20 something to the voice of a male character.

Okay
Revisado: 05-19-21
I absolutely love the miss fortune series, however this was not one of my favorites. Using Jesus and Jesus Christ as expletives was not necessary and I lost track of the number of times the word dude was used. It wasn’t as laugh out loud funny as previous book, and I felt like the end was rushed. Overall I enjoyed the book, just not as much as previous ones in the series..

Nice story
Revisado: 05-05-21
I enjoyed the story however the narration is terrible. My only other issue is that so many of the author’s books have the two main characters (the most beautiful woman and the sexiest man) falling madly in love within a few days and living happily ever after.

A wonderful “listen”
Revisado: 09-11-20
Shannon McManus did an excellent narration of this book. She spoke at a natural pace and added inflections in all the right places. Listening to her was a pleasure.
I very much enjoyed the storyline with all its little twists and turns.

Good story...but
Revisado: 07-28-20
Unfortunately I am disappointed in this book. After reading the Miss Fortune series (that I absolutely love), I had high expectations for this series as well. A couple of the things I enjoyed with the first set of books was there was only mild cursing and the fact it was not necessary to go into explicit sexual descriptions. That is where this book fell quite short for me. The strong cuss words were not necessary and neither was the very detailed sexual encounter. Neither made the book better in fact ruined aspects of it for me. My other complaint is the voice work. The inflections were over the top and the southern accent was brutal. We do NOT sound like that.
I did overall enjoy the storyline, but may have been better off reading the book rather than listening to the audio version. I have to admit that I’m looking forward to reading listening to the next in the series knowing I can fast forward through certain “scenes“ if necessary.
