Historia
He's not like other guys. Liz has seen him around school. It's hard to miss Max - the tall, blond, blue-eyed senior stands out among all the other students at Roswell High. So why is he such a loner? Max is in love with Liz. He loves the way her eyes light up when she laughs and the way her long, black hair moves when she turns her head. Most of all, he loves to imagine what it would be like to kiss her. But he knows he can't get too close. He can't risk her discovering the truth about who he is - or what he is....Because the truth could kill her.

The reader ruined it for me.
Revisado: 04-02-19
I'm a huge fan of all things Roswell. But not this audiobook. Granted, the book is different from the tv series in integral ways that were distracting for me, attached as I am to those actors' portrayals. But I still could have rolled with it were it not for the fact that the reader ruined it. I don't know where they found this guy when there are more than enough actually competent readers who, no doubt, would welcome the gig. This guy sounded like a 4th grade boy reading his book report. My ears were insulted. I felt myself constantly mimicking him sarcastically, which probably made several people on the street consider me a crazy person. Do yourself a favor, stream the 1999 series on Hulu. Or just read the book. You'll get much more pleasure out of that.

Historia
Seeking women ages 18-32 to participate in a study on ethics and morality. Generous compensation. Anonymity guaranteed. When Jessica Farris signs up for a psychology study conducted by the mysterious Dr. Shields, she thinks all she’ll have to do is answer a few questions, collect her money, and leave. But as the questions grow more and more intense and invasive and the sessions become outings where Jess is told what to wear and how to act, she begins to feel as though Dr. Shields may know what she’s thinking...and what she’s hiding.

A fairly good mystery; lackluster prose
Revisado: 03-03-19
If you don't mind a story that sounds like it's being told by someone on the autism spectrum this book is your kind of read. There is no elegance or metaphor whatsoever. I'd probably call it perfunctory. The mystery was good enough that I wanted to continue to see where it went, but I was constantly - and I mean constantly - annoyed at the robotic delivery of one of the two readers. By the end I just wanted to get it over with. I will say that the plotting was mostly plausible.
