Historia
I entered into a bargain—choosing my mate over my freedom. But I underestimated the crowned prince who took me. His touch like venom. His vengeance lethal. He craves a power I no longer hold, and he’ll sacrifice every part of me until he gets it. But I don’t belong to him. I belong to his brother. His brother who will come for me, consequences be damned. My fate is entangled between two princes—one who craves my power, the other who covets me—and I have more to lose than I ever imagined.

Not sure why I finished it
Revisado: 07-21-24
I have no idea why I finished the series. The heroine drove me nuts. One side she’s all I don’t trust anyone and I’m a spitfire and then on the other side she wants the hero to abandon everything and stay with her. All the time. In the second book she was all mixed signals with I hate you/ let’s get busy and back to I hate you again. She also recognizes that people around her have it harder but then acts like she’s the worst person grieved. At least at the very end she’s . . . less annoying.
The storyline is okay nothing super unusual. The voice actors were great though.

Historia
Lady Katarina Ashowan has never quite fit the mold of a noblewoman—and it's not only because she's a mutated fire witch. Though she's the closest friend and confidant of Alina, the soon-to-be-coronated queen of Troivack, Kat would much rather play cards with questionable characters or steal out at night to go riding than bandy niceties with suitors and deal with affairs of state. So as soon as Alina is officially crowned, the young witch plans to put away her dresses and get into some real adventure, training with a master swordsman.

Love this author
Revisado: 05-07-24
I absolutely love the entire series! It is so much fun to read/listen to. Like the first series, the Katarina causes so much trouble in the beginning but finds a way to warm everyone to her by being herself. And of course with a healthy dose of ridiculous situations which makes all the more entertaining. Love seeing how Katarina grows both in herself and in friendships. Can’t wait for the next book!

Historia
Poet, writer, and Instagram sensation Nikita Gill returns with a collection of fairytales poetically retold for a new generation of women. Traditional fairytales are rife with cliches and gender stereotypes: Beautiful, silent princesses; ugly, jealous, and bitter villainesses; girls who need rescuing; and men who take all the glory. But in this rousing new prose and poetry collection, Nikita Gill gives Once Upon a Time a much-needed modern makeover.

I was not prepared!
Revisado: 09-01-23
I was just looking for a quick listen as I was working. I was not prepared for how absolutely beautiful and honest these poems are. There were moments where I need to stop and cry and other moments I felt like she had looked into my life and put a magnifying glass to my insecurities.
I loved how she would take simple fairy tales and give a perspective for each character. Other times it is very clearly about something current.
Absolutely gorgeous and highly recommended!

Love this story!
Revisado: 08-12-22
I loved this story! Love all the world building and the main characters’ banter and interaction. And it’s pretty steamy as a bonus! Sometimes I get annoyed with the main character because she freaks herself out. One time she’s bold confident and un afraid and the next she’s scared and nervous. Either was love the story!

Historia
When we were 11, Oliver Ford Pemberton dared me to jump off a barn roof. He said you couldn’t break a leg from a 12-foot jump. He lied. (You can also break a collarbone, which served him right as far as I was concerned.) I wish I could say it was the last dare I ever took from him, the last bet I ever made with him, the last time I ever trusted Oliver Ford Pemberton. But it wasn’t. Because he had the nerve to grow up gorgeous, charming, and sexy. And as we got older, the dares only got dirtier - and the betting stakes higher - until finally, he left me in pieces.

Was not a fan
Revisado: 01-30-20
I tried 2 books from the Cloverleigh series and I am not a big fan. In both books, Insatiable and Undeniable, the male characters are kind of self-professed jerks and don't seem to be remorseful about it. That was okay since it is a romance you expect some level of personal flaw that the character has to overcome in order to achieve happiness. My biggest issue is that the women in the two books I read seemed to be doormats, repeatedly allowing the less than ideal men hurt and take advantage of them. They seem to think be a martyr is a way of showing love when the guy in question doesn't seem to deserve it. In the author's defense, the books end with the main male character overcoming their flaws but the journey itself is painful. I will say insatiable is pretty steamy but Undeniable is written mostly in flashbacks so you miss most of the steam. Overall, the books are okay but I don't think I will continue the series.

Historia
America Ferrera has always felt wholly American, and yet, her identity is inextricably linked to her parents’ homeland and Honduran culture. Speaking Spanish at home, having Saturday morning salsa-dance parties in the kitchen, and eating tamales alongside apple pie at Christmas never seemed at odds with her American identity. Still, she yearned to see that identity reflected in the larger American narrative. Now, in American Like Me, America invites 31 of her friends, peers, and heroes to share their stories about life between cultures.

Absolutely love this book!
Revisado: 10-29-19
I can’t recommend this book enough! As a child of an immigrant, I really related to all of these incredible stories. From growing up in culturally diverse neighborhoods and how that shaped me to living with parents just trying to survive. Absolutely amazing stories and wonderfully written. Definitely worth the credit!!

Incredible!
Revisado: 10-11-19
Absolutely love this book! I really hope this becomes a long series because I look forward to seeing all the characters and relationships grow. Also, the book feature children but I would think the content is just enough to be considered YA. It has the beginnings of some darker elements but explained in an innocent way. LOVE IT!

Wonderful bit little slow
Revisado: 09-13-19
This story is a cute and fun story about magic and family and emotions. It was a bit slow for me, with several storylines building up, but they all tie up nicely in the end. Family fun.

Georgie hasn’t been on a date since, well, ever. Nobody’s asking the town clown out for a night of hot sex, that’s for sure. Maybe if people think she’s having a steamy love affair, they’ll acknowledge she’s not just the “little sister” who paints faces for a living. And who better to help demolish that image than the resident sports star and tabloid favorite? Travis Ford was major league baseball’s hottest rookie when an injury ended his career. Now, he’s flipping houses to keep busy and trying to forget his glory days.

Great story but rushed ending
Revisado: 07-08-19
This is a great book! The characters were a lot of fun to read, the story steamy from start to finish and there were really interesting plot lines as wel. What bothered me is that I felt like they rushed the ending. Not only were there some parts of the main characters story that was never really resolved, but there were also 3 side stories that ever resolved either. I'm hoping that since this is a new book the author is planning on creating a series with each of the other characters going deeper in their storylines. Other thank being kinda annoyed at the hanging plot lines this is a good solid romance. Nice fluffy fun.

Totally beat my expectations!
Revisado: 04-10-19
When I first started listening to this, I was afraid this would be like every other young adult fantasy book that is more about a love triangle than a plot. I am happy to say this book beat all my expectations! I really enjoyed the descriptions and the mystery. I would recommend!
