Historia
It's been 1097 days and 14 hours since I've been locked in this place. And they've come to me every night. The monsters in my dreams worship my body, and when I wake up I'm desperate for more. But they’re never there to finish me off. Dr. Adams says I can leave the asylum if I start to take my meds, but I've always hated how they made me feel...and I'm not sure that I agree with them that I'm actually crazy. Because dreams don’t make you crazy, right?

Story decent, narrators not so much
Revisado: 01-30-23
As others have said, the narrators are not the best. The woman has a strange accent and the man has weird pauses. The story is still decent so I listened to the whole book, but not really worth a credit.

Not the best from Nalini Singh
Revisado: 01-28-23
I’m a huge fan of any book by Nalini Singh, but this is not the best. Probably my least favorite from her. The timeline of the histories described is wildly off by thousands of years, and the first third of the book feels like a backstory that is rushed through to get to the real story.
The character development and storyline is still there, so still giving a positive review. But I definitely would have given up on this book, except that the story is important to the series. There are some pretty big events that contribute to the series progression.

Historia
All Dahlia wanted was her freedom. But first, she needed to buy out of her promised bonding - a promise that was made for her before she was even born. Almost a century of trying had taken its toll, and she did some things she isn’t proud of. She lost parts of herself along the way and flirted with the darkness inside her...and it flirted back. Everything in her life systematically blew up in her face one piece at a time. Blaming it all on the beautiful, egotistical vampire who showed up in her life would be easy, but it started long before he arrived.

Wonderful new series!
Revisado: 09-11-22
The storyline grabbed me and kept hold for the entire book, even in the end there were new reveals and twists. For a new series and new author to audible, this is a wonderful first book. I will definitely be getting the next in this series!

I thought I was a useless witch whose only weapons were a switchblade and a mean disposition. I thought Zak was a rogue druid with waning power and an alluring aura that's impossible for me to resist. And I thought my fae familiar was a harmless shape-shifter who chose me because I'm "mildly interesting". But nothing is what I thought. Nothing is what it seems. Including me. I need answers, and I need them fast - before I sink any deeper in the quagmire of secrets I've fallen into. The Crystal Druid's. The Winter King's. And my own.

Historia
A soldier raised as heir to an empire, Zarrah is motivated by two truths. The first is that the Veliant family murdered her mother. And the second is that her pursuit of vengeance will put every last one of them in their graves. The Endless War between Maridrina and Valcotta has raged for generations, leaving thousands of Zarrah’s people dead and countless more orphaned. So when she’s given command of the contested city of Nerastis, Zarrah is prepared to do whatever it takes to destroy the Maridrinian forces who oppose her. And to kill the Veliant prince who leads them.

Great story and narration, just like the previous in the series
Revisado: 12-02-21
I couldn't put it down, despite how long this book is. Just like the previous two books in the series this one is well written and narrated very well. The narrators pronounce a few words slightly different but not enough to detract from the storytelling

Historia
As an environmental studies major, Allie knows the planet is in trouble - a series of natural disasters recently rocked the northern hemisphere, and species across the globe are going extinct. What Allie doesn't know is that her world's decline is a result of an ancient battle called the Night War - the Norse goddess Nott's crusade to control the weakest of the light realms. And Allie most definitely doesn't know that her existence is the only thing stopping Nott from dragging the earth into total darkness.

Feels like I'm listening to an annoying teenager
Revisado: 11-23-21
The narrator is fine but the writing is awful, I tried for over half the book and it just never gets better, the main character is whiny and the writing feels like a half baked plot idea written by a teenager who wasn't creative enough to create a fully thought out story board.

Historia
I'm not your average girl. My best friend is my switchblade. My favorite hobby is using it on the cruel, the abusive, and anyone who gets on my bad side. I'm a convicted murderer with a chip on my shoulder and a dangerous lack of restraint. And then there's Zak. His rap sheet makes mine look tame. The bounty on his head is worth more money than I'll ever make, and the deadly fae that shadow his every step wield more power than I'll ever know. He's the Crystal Druid, and his first mistake was setting foot on my turf. His second was saving my life.

Another great guild codex series
Revisado: 10-16-21
Good start to a new series. It started off a little slow and focused heavily on character development (which makes sense for the introduction of a new character dynamic that will last through a series), but then picked up around the middle. Also definitely worth waiting for the audio version. Now I'm invested, can't wait for the next book!

Feels like propaganda
Revisado: 08-18-21
The story is fine, if unimaginative. But does the author really want young girls to aspire to follow the footsteps of a penniless girl with no aspirations who majors in English at NYU?? What about doing something that won't put you in debt for the rest of your life. SMH...

My name is Opal Yong-ae, and I’m a Cleaner. At least, I used to be. Thanks to the supernatural bad luck that turns everything I do against me, these days I’m more of a walking disaster. Getting rid of this curse is the only way to get my life back. Unfortunately, dragon magic is every bit as sneaky and deadly as the monsters behind it, and just as hard to beat.

Too cliche and underwhelming
Revisado: 09-09-19
Characters are cliche, the narrator is way too pompous, and the story just doesn't seem to go anywhere. Also the details about healthy foods are distracting (and annoying for people who realize organic, non GMO, etc. doesn't always mean better). Really wish the author had stuck to just the main story line, but it'll be a no from me.
