Historia
Belissar has always lived a peaceful life, if not a particularly easy one. Though he lost his parents, he was taken in by a kindly villager who taught him his life's calling: beekeeping. But one day the local lord's ruthless son, Ruckanos, comes to their humble village to claim his own tower, slaughtering everyone. Luckily for Belissar, as he lies dying with an arrow in his back, a tiny worker bee decides to interfere, and he wakes up not only alive but a whole new bee-ing.

found this to a nice light hearted dungeon core fun
Revisado: 04-12-25
Not an Isaki I know that matters to some. The bees being the chosen monster like the cat core novels or the ants from chrysalis. overall I'd say this book is very promising as a starting point. the character sheet updates are very infrequent so maybe a normal reader would find it acceptable but I'm not sure. overall I highly recommend the book especially the fans of dungeon core books.

Historia
Dhane kicked the bucket in spectacular fashion, every bone crushed, every organ popped against the full force of a 40-ton garbage truck speeding through a red light. The only part of him intact—whole—entirely unaffected by the grisly affair was his soul. Souls are durable things, you see, like kids: they bounce. And bounce he did, into the abyss between worlds, drifting until one excited soul watcher fished him out and found him a new home, a heaven for gamers and nerds and everything in between.

this book is just social justice all the way through
Revisado: 04-08-25
our hero is a games journalist. the evil he is fighting is an abusive system who is supported by a bunch of people who don't know better. that to free people from slavery requires our games journalist to wake people up to the greater truth. that a small cabal of people on top have used neuro linguistic programming to train people to not see other people as people. that if he could just awaken everyone to the greater truth the Gnostic truth we could all live in an afterlife that had equity. the book had interesting ideas and even try to comment on balance unfortunately the author is a one-sided jackass who knows nothing about balance. this story has interesting ideas unfortunately at its dark heart is just pure propaganda pure far left communist propaganda.

Historia
Hatched from an egg along with their many brethren, a singular arachnid is driven by a survival instinct to hunt and feed. Unlike their siblings, they remain cautious and observant, aware of the dangers that lurk in the dungeon they call home. They watch as larger and more powerful beasts prey on other reckless, foolish spiders, developing a sense of self-preservation and a cunning intelligence they alone seem to possess.

It's a rather pleasant story from mostly the perspective of a dungeon spider and some of the adventurers.

Historia
In the 12 fascinating lectures of Warping Reality: Inside the Psychology of Cults, you will learn about some of the most widely known cults of modern times. But unlike any standard news reporting or documentary about the Peoples Temple, The Manson “Family,” The Branch Davidians, Heaven’s Gate, Children of God, the Unification Church, and NXIVM, your expert, Dr. Wind Goodfriend, will help you explore the psychology of these cults. How could these cult leaders have committed such heinous crimes under the guise of “helping” members in their development?

cults through he eyes of a feminist
Revisado: 02-09-25
I find it odd that on the one hand she claims that the scale created makes it hard to identify cults but whenever I apply the scale it actually makes it shockingly easy. Instead rather than backing up her arguments she simply states it is a fact. In the psychology of cult leaders she focuses solely on men. Which is odd since both one of her guest speakers and a number of cults I could go over had female leaders. She also leaves out black leaders and yes America has had a few. She's clearly using the intersectional lens to make sure that her presentation remains palatable to those who preach intersectionality. The light triad is somewhat interesting because it's simply describes the harm reduction of morality of evolutionary psychology. Chapter 9 not only has a graphic warning annoying on its own but then proceeds to point out how all the literature demonizes men while saying yes this is normal and good. Funny how something that's talking about cult psychology is giving into thoughtless group think. Not only does she downplay the sufering of men but goes on to site the now infamous 1 in 3 women statistic. Patriarchy does come up in this chapter and the author tries to excuse this lie into by claiming that she's just going based on the cults and the literature. The problem with this excuse is that she chose which cults and literature would be followed. While she does acknowledge men can be abused she spends most of this apology focusing on non-binary and the lgbtq alliance. The misandry against men is further excuse by pointing to abused women and saying respect their lived experiences. She also supports the changes that affirmative care would require for the language. The end of the book is basically a support manual for women and talks about at length the strength women have shown in the face of PTSD.
The author does several other interesting things throughout this book. She tries to use a form of gnosticism to get her ideas of interpersonal dysfunction between couples and graft that on to cult psychology. As above so below as below so above.
The end of this book is actually quite funny unintentionally. When she talks about how cults create a conspiracy theory about how psychologists and doctors are in fact evil and must be resisted while simultaneously touching on multiple times patriarchy theory over the book.

a fun story
Revisado: 12-14-24
I did enjoy the story of a magically empowered robot vacuum. I even got a few chuckles from time to time. Though I will admit that it did slow down at points.
The story isn't to deep so you can listen while doing other things. A easy book to recommend to fans of weird isaki.

On the capital world of Potence, young enforcer cadet Rudgard Howe is caught up in a bitter internecine feud to inherit his father's position of chief enforcer. Revisado: 12-09-24
The characters are well written and the story doesa good job at pacing, but this story doesn't really stand out. If you're between books I can recommend. It's a shame because horror in Warhammer should work however making it work and fit into the setting seem to be pulling against each other rather than complementing one another.

That was who I was. That was what I was, a tiny snake with great potential. The sole creation of the Great Core. It was just us—the great core and I—tucked away in our little corner of the world dungeon. Together, we hid from the bad things and the Coreless of the world outside, safe from the horrors that would consume us. Until one day, the Coreless found us. Until they tried to steal away my creator. Until with no other option, I swallowed the Great Core that had made me. Only after that, did I become what I was always meant to be.

the moral of the story is malevolent equity
Revisado: 07-28-24
have you ever run across an ending so terrible it makes you regret starting the first place? this is one of those books. unironically the author tries to frame having everything that makes you special and different from others and then ruthlessly ripping that out of you a good thing. that anything that makes you special or better skilled at something then another person is in fact intrinsically bad. that anyone who stands out is in the wrong because well how dare you not be equal.
I don't recommend this book and this is probably the last book from this author I will ever buy intentionally. progressivism truly ruins everything.

Henry already died once. Does he really need to do it again? Now he's a skeleton with a stat sheet, skills, and an insatiable desire to kill humans. Lurking in the very depths of his bleached skull, some remnant of his old self still remains—and it wants to break free just as badly as Henry wants to figure out how he's a skeleton in the first place. And Henry isn't the only one. Other skeletons are gaining sentience all over Jallfoss. Is there any way back? Any way to break the curse that holds all of Jallfoss in its icy grip?

painfully generic
Revisado: 07-06-24
ho some of the characters are undead how does that change things? it doesn't. seriously it does nothing but make more commentary on race. all the women are strong independent and better than the men. it's a modern book with all those negative things and it pisses away the ideas that could have made it stand out.
if you like the extra shallow books that get mass produced now then you'll probably enjoy this as well, but I can't really recommend this book. it's not bad or good it's painful generic.
