Tiny, healthy French bulldog Truman was dropped off days ago with instructions to be euthanized by a man everyone thought was his owner. But now the owner is nowhere to be found. But that’s not all the vet tells Andy. Thanks to Truman’s chip, it’s discovered that the man wasn’t Truman’s owner at all.... Truman's real owner was murdered.

Another wonderful fun perfectly plotted book
Revisado: 08-21-19
I love this entire series and this newest addition does not disappoint. Grover Gardner does his usual wonderful job bringing all the characters to life, and the latest dog in this book, Truman, is saved from an awful fate, setting off a new mystery. I can't review these books individually as the whole series is a continuous story of all the great characters. The plots are always exciting and intricately thought out. I listen to these books over and over, my go to "happy place" with ear buds. I love the author, the narrator and even New Jersey! Thank you for this excellent series!

At this stately home, now open for public tours, visitors revel in the lush atmosphere created by its three hundred rooms, its exceptional display of fine china, its chilling dungeon with historic suits of armor on display, evoking the spirits of knights from a forgotten age. Young Michael's sister, a visitor to the mansion with their mum, presses her for an explanation of "what's a chastity belt?" while Michael fools around with one of the suits of armor....

The most wonderfully narrated book of all time.
Revisado: 11-10-18
Catherine Aird has written a stellar police procedural with a delightful cast of characters and a perfectly depicted Stately Home tour setting. This alone would make the book excellent. But it is also narrated by Robin Bailey, who does every character, every sentence to perfection. His one man play type reading of all the eccentric and expected characters is not to be missed. This was the first audio book I ever bought, and I listen to it time and time again, never tiring of the flow, the humor, the sheer Britishness of the whole book. I simply can't recommend this book highly enough. It's fun every single time I hear it. I wish I could give the performance a million stars, it deserves every one.

Engaging true crime account of historic murder
Revisado: 07-31-18
Well written and researched account of Daniel Edgar Sickles crime of passion shooting of his wife's lover, Philip Barton Key II, a U.S. Attorney and son of Francis Scott Key, whom Sickles gunned down in broad daylight in Lafayette Square. This short is perfect for someone like me that doesn't want to read a 400 page book on the topic, but wants more than the usual single sentence or footnote about the shooting that is all I can get from a history book on the Civil War and the events leading up to it.
I don't know why there aren't more short reads like this. It was perfect. Answered all my questions but didn't go on and on with a lot of filler. The author, R. Barri Flowers, has come up with a brilliant idea.
Wendy Almeida did a great job of narration. She was clear, understandable and her pace was excellent. I Immediately looked to see what other books she narrates.
For a Civil War buff like me this book filled an empty place in the story of Sickles, who was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg and received the Medal of Honor. I'm more interested in the stories of the people than I am in the tactics of each battle. This is a fascinating story with long term legal influence, I'm glad I read it.

Historia
A General Who Will Fight is a detailed study of leadership that explores Grant's rise from undisciplined cadet to commanding general of the United States Army. Some experts have attributed Grant's success to superior manpower and technology, to the help he received from other Union armies, or even to a ruthless willingness to sacrifice his own men. Harry S. Laver, however, refutes these arguments and reveals that the only viable explanation for Grant's success lies in his leadership skill, professional competence, and unshakable resolve.

Clear, concise and enlightening
Revisado: 07-11-18
I listened to The Leadership of Ulysses S. Grant by Harry S. Laver on audiobook, narrated by J. Scott Bennett. It's not a long book, only 6 hrs and 48 minutes, which is short compared to some of the other lengthy books on Grant, but, much like Grant's war stategy, it marches straight forward and without deviation, goal firmly in mind. This gives it a wonderful clarity, and kept me completely interested every minute.
The author focuses on something that had puzzled me. How did Grant, small of stature, mild of manner and admittedly flawed in some aspects of his character, how did he manage to rally Union troops and lead them to victory. What did he do, how did he act, to bring such determination to troops already weary from fighting?
Covering the additional challenges Grant faced from his own administration, fellow officers, and traitors to the Northern cause, Laver explains clearly the path Grant took to overcome these obstacles. Laver gave a very balanced view of Grant, not hero worship nor whitewashing his flaws, I came away feeling like I really understood the whole course of Grant's command.
I highly recommend this book for a reader just getting started in their understanding of the Civil War, and for the reader who has read a great deal of highly detailed material. I read everything I can about the Civil War, and this book was like putting in a foundation block in my understanding. Solid, clear and well organized, it made it easy for me to see the big picture of Grant's campaigns.
The narrator, J. Scott Bennett, was absolutely perfect for this book. His voice, pace and down home style was like having a very interesting and knowledgeable friend lay out all the information on how Grant managed his command and won the war. It was really the perfect listening experience.

Something called the “Blue Juice" is coming. For all of us. Luckily, me (Chip Collins), Pete, Nikola Tesla, Bobo, and FBI Agent Gina Phillips are here to kick its ass, and send it back to last Tuesday. Maybe. Or maybe we'll fail, and everyone in the multiverse is doomed. (Seriously, you might want to get that underground bunker ready.) Either way, I've got to get home to Julie and find out – woah, I'm not about to tell you that right here in the book description! TMI, dude.

Fun roller coaster ride through the multiverse!
Revisado: 09-21-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! This whole book is hilariously fun and that would be enough. But there's more. Within the wildly imaginative humor there's a touching love story and some very respectable science fiction that takes on even the metaphysical aspects of perception and creation.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Don't Touch the Blue Stuff!?
When Chip proposed to Julie. Through a door.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Chip decides to save dimension 92103445523194 and he has to disarm a missile.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The whole book was funny, the relationships were real, the science fiction aspect was intriguing and the scope was cosmic. There isn't another writer like Rob Dircks in the entire multiverse.
Any additional comments?
Only Rob Dircks could (and does) narrate this book. He's like that crazy fun friend you want to be around because you never know what's going to happen next. I hope this series is going to continue, it's a blast, from the past, the present and the future. After listening I felt happy, contented and light hearted. It's that kind of book.

Detailed true story of a heinous crime and justice
Revisado: 09-06-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Murder in Room 305 to be better than the print version?
Yes, even though the print version had photo illustrations (I would recommend getting both the audio and the e-book) the narration by J. Scott Bennett added a lot to the riveting story, especially the police interviews, recorded conversations and the trial.
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
The innocence of the victim and the truly evil nature of the crime.
What about J. Scott Bennett’s performance did you like?
His narrative skills let me differentiate between speakers, and kept a perfect pace and tone for this kind of book.
If you could give Murder in Room 305 a new subtitle, what would it be?
Assault on Innocence
Any additional comments?
I have listened to and read many true crime books and this one was top notch. The research, detail and unfolding of the investigation were completely engrossing.

Historia
This is the story of the final 48 hours of the RMS Titanic, its first and last voyage. The story is told in a compelling countdown that ends mere hours after the ship's sinking. This book describes the last days, actions, and thoughts of architect Thomas Andrews and passenger Margaret Brown, known as the Unsinkable Molly Brown, as they interact with other passengers and crew members during these last 48 hours. While Miss Brown enjoys her cruise and her interactions with everyone onboard, Mr. Andrews is at first proud and then haunted by this stately ship.

Engaging novelization of a true event.
Revisado: 08-26-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it was both factual and a great story, told as a novelization of the true events.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the narration, very easy to listen to. And the way the story was told, so that I was able to envision what the passengers and crew experienced first hand.
Which character – as performed by J. Scott Bennett – was your favorite?
I liked the unsinkable Molly Brown, he gave her just the right amount of spunk and personality.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I had the natural reaction of being sad about the many lives lost, especially because that could have been mitigated by more life boats.
Any additional comments?
A quick listen (2 hours and 41 minutes) the story is gripping throughout, partly because I already know of the disaster to come, and partly because the narrator is one of those rare people that has the natural gift of the story teller. I felt as if a world class story teller was telling me a fascinating tale of tragedy. That it was true made it all the more compelling.

Historia
"You haven't heard the last of us yet..." These were chilling words on a note left behind by seven armed and dangerous inmates who escaped from the John Connally prison in South Texas on December 13, 2000. Their promise has apparently been fulfilled. The inmates, now known as the Connally Seven, are suspected of having first robbed a Radio Shack in Houston, and then, days later, on Christmas Eve, of having fatally shot and run over a young police officer during an assault on a Dallas sporting goods store. For six frantic weeks, a massive manhunt with a significant reward had only turned up dead ends - until a tip came in from someone who had seen the gang on Fox TVs, America's Most Wanted. Authorities arrested four of the seven prisoners, including suspected ringleader George Rivas, in Woodland Park, Colorado, and a fifth inmate shot himself during police negotiations.

Spell binding true story of prison escape
Revisado: 08-20-17
Where does The Texas 7 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
In the true crime category it ranks among my top five.
What did you like best about this story?
It was well researched, perfectly paced, clearly written and didn't contain a lot of filler. I was completely enthralled during the whole audio book. Kudos to Gary King for a great true crime book!
Which scene was your favorite?
I liked hearing how the seven were located and recaptured.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the police officer was killed, I felt bad for him and his family.
Any additional comments?
As much as the book itself, the narration by J. Scott Bennett made this book a home run. He's a terrific narrator, I could tell he understands what he's reading and his voice is very easy to listen to. I couldn't believe how fast the time went when listening. I hope to listen to more books narrated by him.

Perfect hypnosis audio book!
Revisado: 07-30-17
What made the experience of listening to Powerful Home Hypnosis for Relaxation, Confidence and Stress Reduction the most enjoyable?
Both the scripts and the narration were wonderful. Deep relaxation really worked, I could feel myself completely let go of anxiety, A place of safety was absolutely perfect, something I could use at any time, not just when I'm listening to the book. The retreat is a track I want to explore over and over again, because I will find new answers each time. And Active confidence boost was terrific. I could tell I will benefit from repeated listening.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Powerful Home Hypnosis for Relaxation, Confidence and Stress Reduction?
When I came up with my place of safety and realized I could go there any time.
What does Jan Cramer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her soothing voice, perfect pacing and a quality I could call kindness.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The realization that now I have another effective tool to help with anxiety and stress. I love this audio book, I plan on sharing it with others.
Any additional comments?
I have listened to many self help audio books and this was one of the very best. As anyone who listens to a self hypnosis audio, the narrator is important. Jan Cramer does a splendid job. Her pacing, pitch and soothing suggestions are so conducive to both relax and allow my mind to take in the helpful suggestions.

Not your regular drooling shambling zombies! Scary
Revisado: 07-15-17
Would you listen to The Rising again? Why?
Yes, it was packed from start to finish with action, characters and the unrelenting need of a father to save his child. The first time through I was mostly focused on Jim Thurmond, but I would like to hear it a second time to focus more on the story as a whole.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Rising?
Definitely the ending. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see if Jim made it there in time to save his child. When he was finally at the house .. well, I won't give it away, but boy oh boy it was memorable!
What does Joe Hempel bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Oh he was terrific, he was like a movie you could listen to. His characterizations and pacing was perfect. He didn't over emote, he didn't over act, he just made the whole thing believable and vital.
If you could take any character from The Rising out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Maybe poor Frankie, I would like to let her know that there is more to life than what she was settling for.
Any additional comments?
It's no wonder that Brian Keene's THE RISING is one of the best-selling zombie novels of all-time. It's a roller coaster ride of scariness, horror and tense situations.
