Strangest narration I've ever heard.

My library in Audible includes more than 3000 titles. Prior to that I spent years listening to first audio tapes and then CDs. This narrator has an adequate voice. Delivery is somewhat rapid. The odd part is that virtually each sentence ends with an upward tilt somewhat like the so-called California girls followed by a space. Fascinating.

I looked at this book because of the narrator whose voice and presentation I always enjoy. The story was just too much, beyond common sense. After a few chapters, I just gave up. Not For Me.

Best I've listened to in awhile.

This book turned out to be much different than expected. The main character, wife then widow, is completely wrapped up in herself. I didn't like her but the story was so well written and performed that I kept listening. Glad I did. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Narration and audio quality sub par.

The narrator's voice is not what you'd expect from a character with his supposed background. Instead of sounding like a former detective, he sounds adolescent. His pacing is way off and the sound quality of parts of the recording is bad. And just to round things out, the writing is shallow and adolescent. I can't recommend this book.

I loved it. A fun read, good narration. It you're looking for a pleasant distraction, this is it.

Held my interest

Enjoyable story if a bit predictable. The only problem was the narration for the character named Georgia. Rapid delivery and accent made it consistently hard for me to understand. I would recommend the book.

Not at all for me

While my iPod shows I've listened to an hour and a half of this book, I have actually skipped through several chapters. The explicit sex scenes are little more than a manual. Personally, I'd rather use my own imagination. There is an old saying about such scenes which I like: "and the curtain falls and times passes". The book is going back, something I rarely do even if I'm not particularly happy with a book.

Totally inappropriate narrator

Why in the world did this narrator end up doing this book? She should have been doing YA or children's books. Very young voice. Rapid delivery. Little or no expression. I finally gave up.
