Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

This is a book both White & Blacks should read!
Revisado: 12-16-20
As a person of color, I read this book so I could see the side of racism from the White person's point of view. I have had many White people look at me some sad and others confused because they don't know they Black people keep protesting saying that Slavery is over (and get over it)! I realized that White people don't understand that the issue is Racism and not Slavery which is over while racism is not! But, then I have had people of color tell me that they are not racists and look at me crazy when I try to explain that Black people can't be racist (they can be prejudice or even a bogot but not racist!
This book does a great job at explaining the difference!

Since you were old enough to hold a job, you've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by blindly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. I call this soul-sucking, dream-stealing dogma "The Slowlane" - an impotent financial gamble that dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less", there is an alternative.

This was wonderful!
Revisado: 05-23-20
I truly enjoyed this book! Her younger years reminded me of mine in NYC. Also, I liked that she herself told the story. And she explained a lot about why so her husband was not able to keep a lot of his promises to the people. And the strength it took to be able to live in the White House was almost like being under House Arrest in real life. I never thought about it like that before, but at least they were kept safe. I enjoyed their love story and Michelle is a wonderful and caring mother! All in all, she told a magnificent story and it's a must-read and a keeper!!!

This must be a joke!
Revisado: 02-04-20
This book had so many mistakes in it that if anyone was learning and repeated what was said here they would be laughed at like they were an idiot! I am a Cuban Sateria and can tell you that these descriptions are not correct. The names of the Orisha are not pronounced correctly and in the end it just sounds like a bad Cookbook!
Yemaja is known as Regla not regala! Regla means rules, she is not a Regalo a gift! Then it is Eleggua who opens the path, Oscosi that clears away the obstacles, and it is Ogun who works them out. Ogun is in the Earth and works 24/7. Oscosi is in the woods, he is a Hunter, and also clears the path in the woods after Ellegua opens it.
They are known as The Warriors and they have to be fed animal sacrifices in order to work for you and this is why you have to be initiated in order to know what sacrifices they require.
This Orisha is real, and it's not like Christians who may church. if you come to them incorrectly you can have serious consequences!
please don't listen to this Author I think they just wanted to make money! And I just wasted a credit!

Historia
Ambition can be a powerful force for good in our lives. But only if it is legitimate. Sometimes misinterpreted and often misunderstood, ambition - true ambition - is not a selfish quality. It is not another word for ruthless; it is not something to be shunned or subdued. Legitimate ambition is an honorable trait. At its very best, our ambition serves us and other people. In fact, pursuing your ambition is one of the most selfless things you can do.
