Historia
Private Investigator Jack Fox is not sure how he went from being a freewheeling bachelor to the father of two daughters: a baby girl, who is the product of his less-than-stellar life choice of hooking up with a convicted serial killer, and 19-year-old Enid Iglowski, who is going to her court-ordered anger management counseling sessions with the intelligent and sexy Dr. Melody Stuckley who, unbeknownst to Enid, Jack can't seem to get out of his mind - or his bed.

Like Carl Hiassen, C Mack Lewis’ writes her crime dramas with a keen dark wit. Fully drawn characters. Wild plot. No punches pulled. Great trilogy wrap up.

Modern Throwback
Revisado: 08-29-18
If you like gum shoe noir fiction, you might love this. 2nd in the Fallen Angel trilogy, Lewis gives us a tour of Phoenix, Arizona’s seedy side. The parts where human origins and human beings are a commodity. While the subject matter is midnight dark, Lewis’s sharp humor provides a nice balance - exactly what I’m looking for in Noir. John Bell, the reader, is a real pro. He manages a distinctive voice for each character. Looking for a fun, gripping story? Here she is.

Old School Bernie Madoff!
Revisado: 02-27-17
Amazing book about the rise and fall of a Madoff's great-great-great-great-great French grandfather! The greatest lesson we can learn from history is that history repeats itself and if we don't learn from the past then we are destined to repeat it.

Great sequel to the first book. I was highly entertained and I enjoyed the narrator's storytelling style. I love the Ripley character and the slow build in action to the final violent climax. I highly recommend this as an entertaining new listen.

Historia
As part of a ruthless program by the totalitarian government, ninth-grade students are taken to a small isolated island with a map, food, and various weapons. Forced to wear special collars that explode when they break a rule, they must fight each other for three days until only one "winner" remains. The elimination contest becomes the ultimate in must-see reality television. A Japanese pulp classic available in English-language audio for the first time, Battle Royale is a potent allegory of what it means to be young and survive in today's dog-eat-dog world.

Great Story!
Revisado: 04-09-16
This was a fun listen! Once I got past the mildly awkward dialogue and narrative that resulted from the translation of the original material into English, I throughly enjoyed this story. I read quite a few negative reviews of the narrator, but I had no problem with his performance. He does not have an expressive voice, but I found his performance strangely calming and enjoyable. If you don't mind hatchets to the skull and exploding heads - this just might be the book for you!

Revisado: 01-24-16
Because I'm the author! I can't review my own book, but I do want to review the amazing job that John Bell did as narrator. He is an amazing talent and has uncanny, spot-on comedic timing as well as the ability to make each character come to life with their own distinct verbal characteristics. Great job, John!
