In John Scalzi's re-imagining of H. Beam Piper's 1962 sci-fi classic Little Fuzzy, written with the full cooperation of the Piper Estate, Jack Holloway works alone for reasons he doesnt care to talk about. Hundreds of miles from ZaraCorps headquarters on planet, 178 light-years from the corporations headquarters on Earth, Jack is content as an independent contractor, prospecting and surveying at his own pace. As for his past, thats not up for discussion.

The Fuzzies.
Have you listened to any of Wil Wheaton and John Scalzi (Introduction) ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I will try others.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
not particularly
Any additional comments?
Scalzi did write a good story, not to diminish his work, but Wheaton raises the story a notch higher.

Revisado: 07-29-16
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A different narrator whose diction was clearer and less "plummy" would have helped.
Has Missing, Presumed turned you off from other books in this genre?
Not at all.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Juanita McMahon?
Maybe Orlagh Cassidy?
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment

Long live Graeme Malcolm!
Revisado: 02-11-15
Where does Death of a Liar rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Any Hamish MacBeth mystery narrated by Graeme Malcolm always ranks among the best I've listened to so far.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Death of a Liar?
The arrival of a new policeman to room with Hamish just after getting rid of Dick.
What does Graeme Malcolm bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The wonderful accents and emotion.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Yikes! I have no idea.
Any additional comments?
I love listening to this series and worry about the author's age because I I don't want the series to end, at least not until Ms. Beaton finally lets Hamish find true love... besides his cat and dog.

Historia
At only five years old, Saroo Brierley got lost on a train in India. Despite his gratitude, Brierley always wondered about his origins. One day, after years of searching, he miraculously found what he was looking for and set off to find his family.

A sad beginning with a happy ending.
Revisado: 02-02-15
What did you like about this audiobook?
I liked Saroo's practicality, acceptance of his adoptive parents as his "real" parents and the adoptive parents understanding of how to make Saroo a regular kid, not an oddity in a white world.
How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?
It has increased my understanding of the desperate lives of the majority of Indian citizens.
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
The author's matter-of-fact presentation of what could have easily become overwrought melodrama made his story that much more amazing.
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
I didn't find anything wrong. He did such a good job that I checked several times to make sure it wasn't the author narrating his own story.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
Revisado: 02-02-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would certainly recommend this audiobook to anyone who even halfway likes thrillers because it is the best thriller I've read/heard in several years.
What other book might you compare I Am Pilgrim to and why?
Perhaps an early Ludlum before his work became so bloated or Triple and The Key to Rebecca by Ken Follett. I Am Pilgrim is that good.
Which scene was your favorite?
There were too many good ones to choose.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
"The good don't die young."

Narrator distracting
Revisado: 02-02-15
What did you like about this audiobook?
The story was interesting.
How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?
It really hasn't.
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
The information was presented in a straightforward way.
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
While the heroine spent time in Ireland, she lived most of her life in the U.S. so the heavy Irish accent of the narrator was a distraction rather than an enhancement.

If you could sum up Burn in three words, what would they be?
Narrator is fantastic.

What about Danny Mastrogiorgio’s performance did you like?
He captures the character perfectly. And if he isn't who James Patterson had in mind, he should have.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Narrator hits the wrong note
Revisado: 01-13-15
What did you love best about Circle of Bones?
I like the story very much
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot was tense at times, and, this being a new author to me, I couldn't be sure the good guys and gals would survive to the final page.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Angela Dawe?
Sadly, just about anyone. The narrator started off with far too much tension so that suspense didn't have a chance to build. Her odd intonation didn't help, either.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reaction.
Any additional comments?
The second book in this series is also narrated by the same individual so I won't be purchasing it as an audiobook.

Historia
From Charlaine Harris, the best-selling author who created Sookie Stackhouse and her world of Bon Temps, Louisiana, comes a darker locale - populated by more strangers than friends. But then, that's how the locals prefer it. Welcome to Midnight, Texas, a town with many boarded-up windows and few full-time inhabitants, located at the crossing of Witch Light Road and Davy Road. It' s a pretty standard dried-up western town.

Susan Bennett deserves even more stars
Revisado: 12-13-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this audiobook because the narrator brings a good story to full life with her amazing range of voices and spot-on presentation of the characters..
Who was your favorite character and why?
I'm curious about the Reverend, who is more than he seems apparently, and just what it is Olivia does when she travels.
Which character – as performed by Susan Bennett – was your favorite?
She did them all so well it is hard to choose.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I wouldn't say I was moved, rather creeped out by the murderer and his/her explanation of why he committed murder because there are real people behaving exactly the same way.

Historia
A long-buried family secret resurfaces when one of Aloysius Pendergast's most implacable enemies shows up on his doorstep as a murdered corpse. The mystery has all the hallmarks of the perfect murder, save for an enigmatic clue: a piece of turquoise lodged in the stomach of the deceased. The gem leads Pendergast to an abandoned mine on the shore of California's desolate Salton Sea, which in turn propels him on a journey of discovery deep into his family's sinister past.

Rene Auberjonois terrific as always
Revisado: 11-21-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Rene Auberjonois manages very well material that is fantastical and melodramatic and would seem ludicrous narrated by anyone else.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Ending was fine.
Which scene was your favorite?
The ongoing search for the ingredients for the antidote.
Was Blue Labyrinth worth the listening time?
Very much.
