Historia
Robert Caro's monumental book makes public what few outsiders knew: that Robert Moses was the single most powerful man of his time in the City and in the State of New York. And in telling the Moses story, Caro both opens up to an unprecedented degree the way in which politics really happens—the way things really get done in America's City Halls and Statehouses—and brings to light a bonanza of vital information about such national figures as Alfred E. Smith and Franklin D. Roosevelt (and the genesis of their blood feud), about Fiorello La Guardia, John V. Lindsay and Nelson Rockefeller.

A fantastic history of New York got its infrastructure
Revisado: 02-12-24
Growing up and living in several of these areas it was great to be able to learn the history of why these are the way that they are. Well worth the length.

Book of elevator pitches
Revisado: 01-24-24
The content of this books is okay, good to learn what companies are doing but it felt like a long commercial for these companies or a compilation of elevator pitches for these companies.

Historia
A system can describe what we see (the solar system), operate a computer (Windows 10), or be made on a page (the 14 engineered lines of a sonnet). In this book, Clifford Siskin shows that system is best understood as a genre - a form that works physically in the world to mediate our efforts to understand it. Indeed, many Enlightenment authors published works they called "system" to compete with the essay and the treatise.

Not what I expected, if you want main points from this book just listen to the coda and save the time.

Historia
Millions of people visit xkcd.com each week to read Randall Munroe's iconic webcomic. His stick-figure drawings about science, technology, language, and love have a large and passionate following. Fans of xkcd ask Munroe a lot of strange questions. What if you tried to hit a baseball pitched at 90 percent of the speed of light? How fast can you hit a speed bump while driving and live? If there were a robot apocalypse, how long would humanity last?

Missing the illustrations
Revisado: 01-19-23
I have originally read many of these stories on the xkcd website before and I can say the audiobook doesn't do what this book normally would be justice. The narrator is fine and the topics without the comics are interesting just know you're missing out.
