Do your characters really need to sound like Jr. High kids?

I just came across this audiobook in my Library and thought 'have I read this one before?'. It was showing I only read 2 hours of it. So I started back at the beginning and then thought to myself 'Oh, yeah. One of the first characters with the potty mouth that used the 'f' word thrown in liberally with Jesus's name. There are many, many authors out there that has proven that you can still write a brilliant story without having to resort to using the Jr. High level of language to make a story enjoyable.

Need more outtakes. At times my stomach starts hurting from laughing so much. These stories are not good for bedtime. You won't be able to drift off to sleep while laughing so much.

Hard to understand

Story was ok. The introduction of the children was kind of amusing. Otherwise the same story as all of the others. The first three in the series was a fun ride. Luke Daniel's accents of all of the different people were very difficult to understand. I finally gave up with 1 hour 26 minutes left. Time ot move on.

That dramatic BwwwoooOOOOOooooonnnng. finally drove me bonkers. I felt like I was back in the ninth grade with every single character dropping the F bomb every few sentences. It is not necessary to have every character or really any character having a potty mouth to make a good story.

My first review after 15 years of being an Audible listener. I finally gave up with only 3 hours left till the end. I paid good money so was determined to finish. Just couldn't do it. I'm sure Scot Brick was offered the chance to read it and he turned them down. That should have been our first clue.
