1st book in this series I didn't enjoy.

plot was weak. character development of the bad guys was nonexistent. maybe a little less discussion about how spicy the food was, and a little more about the motivations of the antagonists and I think it's a different experience

emotional climax and great narration

this was a great follow up to the first story. I was entertained the entire time. the narration is top notch, with a solid understanding of the jargon used by men who carry guns for a living, and the individual characters he was able to bring to life with inflection and accents is truly remarkable.

the climax had me so angry and scared and upset that I almost had to pull over. I felt like I was Saw. great story telling and great delivery by the narrator.

my only negative is I don't like the way Watts is portrayed in her interactions with Chunk. too familiar maybe? the way she is disparaging toward him seems too much like a teenaged girl with a crush (maybe that's what the author is going for?).

story was really good. I was entertained throughout the entire story, but honestly the narrator knocked it out the park. he captured the mindset and personality of men who carry weapons to work everyday. can think of no better compliment to pay him

It was ok

Main character lacked the development necessary to buy in to his success. I wanted to stop part way through but since I paid for the book I stuck it out. Ending was telegraphed for awhile. The standout is the performer. The performer did great. I'm so glad I wasn't trying to read this myself. With all of thr internal dialog and constant switching between characters I think they made the most out of a chaotic situation.

Even better the 2nd time thru. stoked to start 6! great read, and the back and forth radio traffic between personnel is legit, and the author does a great job delivering it.

narrator did so much better for book 4

still some very strange pronunciations of words, politburo, etc. and some obvious lack of homework/ knowledge of military equipment: it's a Virginia Class sub, not a Virgin Class! and a few others, but overall pretty good.

loved the story cant wait to read book 5

Hang in there... the voice work gets better

Couldnt stop listening. Amazing original story that hits close to home with terrorism plots that hit close to home.

Beginning of the book is rough almost robotic narration but improves greatly as the books progress.

this story was far from action packed, but the geopolitics weaved into this story with the realism only Clancy can bring was an entertaining escape in to a theoretical scenario that very well could have been what happened behind closed doors in the mid 80's. As usual, I enjoyed it.
