Historia
In 2014, Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the next Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup “unicorn” promised to revolutionize the medical industry with its breakthrough device, which performed the whole range of laboratory tests from a single drop of blood. Backed by investors such as Larry Ellison and Tim Draper, Theranos sold shares in a fundraising round that valued the company at more than $9 billion, putting Holmes’s worth at an estimated $4.5 billion.

Folie à deux - A delusional belief shared by Two
Revisado: 06-22-18
Mr. Carreyrou delivers a well-organized, chronological, well-researched, and compelling narrative of the problems at Theranos. Carreyrou identifies his sources, where permitted, adding convincing credibility to his account. The company was a lie from the beginning and those at the top knew it as they consistently skirted providing proof of its innovative claims at every turn. This book can be summed up in a French word that Carreyrou introduces his readers: Folie à deux - a delusional belief shared by Two.

Historia
The tragic story of Susan Powell and her murdered boys, Charlie and Braden, is the only case that rivals the Jon Benet Ramsey saga in the annals of true crime. When the pretty, blonde Utah mother went missing in December of 2009 the media was swept up in the story - with lenses and microphones trained on Susan's husband, Josh. He said he had no idea what happened to his young wife, and that he and the boys had been camping in the middle of a snowstorm.

Excellent Account of Unbelievably Digusting Evil
Revisado: 02-12-18
May Susan and her two sons RIP. The narrators and the authors present and very organized and detailed account of a very self-centered and sick individual and the numerous, direct and indirect, victims of a person filled with hate.

Historia
Van Halen's rise in the 1980s was one of the most thrilling the music world had ever seen - their mythos an epic party, a sweaty, sexy, never-ending rock extravaganza. During this unparalleled run of success, debauchery, and drama, no one was closer to the band than Noel Monk. Throughout Van Halen's meteoric rise and abrupt halt, this confidant, fixer, friend, and promoter saw it all and lived to tell. Now, for the first time, he shares the most outrageous escapades.

All That Glitters Isn't Gold
Revisado: 09-28-17
Fred Berman does an amazing job of narrating the audio version of the book. Noel Monk's account is a comprehensive, believable version of 1978 - 1984. The story is frank and sadly predictable. What's remarkable is the fact that the band was able to produce so well for so long while alcohol, drugs, and egos made unhappiness and discontentment a regular friend. Michael Anthony achieves sainthood in Monk retelling. While, I honestly felt so for Michael, fortunately, his net worth is similar to his bandmates and it doesn't appear that the attempts to reduce his income, beginning in 1984, mattered much. While I love their music, I wouldn't trade places with Monk or anyone in the band.

Historia
What does the Bible really say about the end times? There are so many Christians teaching outrageous speculation about end times Bible prophecy these days. It's enough to frustrate the serious Bible student. What if you found out most of it is simply mistaken? What if you found out that the ancient Jewish writers were using Old Testament imagery of the past, not a crystal ball gaze into our modern future?

Any additional comments?
The author and I share a similar journey due to our similar ages. Back in the 70s, The Late Great Planet Earth along with Jack Van Impe scared the bejebees out of me, as a boy, with their confidently sounding conjecture and speculation. And, I remember the "Countdown" in the 1980s. All I can say is, if you are tired of the incessant, futile, non-sense of persons trying to fit modern headlines into sacred text while ignoring history, context, and the original audience, then you have come to the right place in Brian's "End Times...." The benefit of reading Brian's in-depth discussion on the Preterist view: It is like someone giving you your bible back and allowing you to actually *understand* what Jesus was saying, *who* he was saying it to, and what transpired shortly thereafter. Matthew 24 was Jesus confronting the unbelief head on and with dire warnings of consequential disaster. You'll see Jesus as a politically incorrect Warrior, as well as, The Lamb. Words like "generation," "you", "quickly", "at-hand" will become perfectly clear and lose their nebulous, transcendiary shroud of mystique and confusion. If you are able to put aside any bias and preconceptions of the Last Days, then I think you will find the book thought-provoking and, perhaps, it may even change your mind about some things.

Historia
The first love in our lives is our mother. Recognizing her face, her voice, the meaning of her moods, and her facial expressions is crucial to survival. In this book, Dr. Christine Ann Lawson vividly describes how mothers who suffer from borderline personality disorder produce children who may flounder in life even as adults, futilely struggling to reach the safety of a parental harbor, unable to recognize that their borderline parent lacks a pier, or even a discernible shore.

Historia
Lyndon Baines Johnson was a man of great ambition and enormous greed, both of which, in 1963, would threaten to destroy him. In the end, President Johnson would use power from his personal connections in Texas and from the underworld and from the government to escape an untimely end in politics and to seize even greater power. President Johnson, the thirty-sixth president of the United States, was the driving force behind a conspiracy to murder President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. In The Man Who Killed Kennedy, you will find out how and why he did it. Political consultant, strategist, and Libertarian Roger Stone has gathered documents and used his firsthand knowledge to construct the ultimate tome to prove that LBJ was not only involved in JFK's assassination, but was in fact the mastermind. With 2013 being the fiftieth anniversary of JFK's assassination, this is the perfect time for The Man Who Killed Kennedy to be available to readers. The research and information in this book is unprecedented, and as Roger Stone lived through it, he's the perfect person to bring it to everyone's attention.
